Kb27 Supersonic July 25, 2013 Share July 25, 2013 ok so such capacitors are definitely gonna of a decent size compared to normal capacitors. it also seems this author feels even large capacitors are overkill for ICE. what do you think of sprint booster? Yes, there are some who feels the Farad cap is not as useful. Whatever energy you take from the cap or the batt, you have to put it back somehow. It's only a matter of time. Caps are just faster than batt, but their stored energy is limited. Not sure which sprint booster you mention, but I google and it appears to be the same stuff as Pivot 3-drive. They modify TPS signal. You would have achieve the same thing if you step on the pedal more or less, but some people may just feel better with something that "helps" them by cheating the ECU. Personally, after playing around with a few mods, I get tired of them. They are more or less toys and they sucked away your money. If you want the real performance stuffs, if you have not already one; a turbocharged car would do wonders. Simple and it works. I'll rather spend my time and money elsewhere. ↡ Advertisement

I am currently on a turbo car anyway. I didn't ask about these gadets because I planned to use them. more like just satisfying my apetite for knowledge. Such electronics are simple circuitry and not too difficult to build, although I don't profess to know exactly how. Example, if originally, factory range of TPS is between 1V to 4V; where 1V = idling rpm and 4V = redline rpm and we want to build a "sprint booster" for more response, we could simply shift the voltage return upwards. Instead of returning 1V to the ecu, we changed the signal to say 1.2V. Then we test if the ecu will wrongly interpret the signal and gives instruction to increase idling rpm. If it doesn't, good! We can sell it for that car. If ecu doesn't give the required result, we're looking for, we start looking elsewhere or changing voltage value only after certain range. So it's kind of trial and error. Remember, we are not the original car designer and only wants to screw with factory setting...and hopefully doesn't create other problems. The voltage shift can be simply done by choosing a set of resistors value or potential dividers, biased for the right voltage we desire. But this simple method has drawbacks and suffer from heat deviation which change resistors value. So going upscale, we may try the more expensive method of using transistors to bias the change. What I'm trying to say is, that simple electronics can easily achieve what we want. And we don't care what happens elsewhere due to our modification. We just want to build a low-cost product, slapped on a good branding and make big bucks !!! ...and with great marketing, we can all be rich.

Kb27 Supersonic July 25, 2013 Share July 25, 2013 And if that infernal peony website author comes to "expose" our product, we pour black epoxy over it, even concrete if we have to. So that no one can open it without breaking into pieces. In the meantime, we advertise that it's proprietary, improved version 2 and need protection. But you get the idea. Such is the state of aftermarket products.
