if base on the video and for a normal car, the driver may not be able to avoid the accident, the bicycle should be able to see the car approaching yet she chose to cross the road, and there was no reflective device on the bike or the person.

 

Then again this is a self-drive vehicle, shouldn't it has a better 'sense' the detect the approaching human? unlike human strictly depend on what he can see.

Currently, BMW has this pedestrian detection system as an option.

 

I believe autonomous car should have this as well.

I'm doing a research on autonomous driving and autonomous bus and its prospects in Singapore. I've been reading that SG has been preparing for autonomous buses in the next year and had even built a dedicated town for these buses.

I think it should feel relatively the same when we take the inter-terminal airport train, but the bus won't have special track.
