Please sell your Merc since C&C does not give you premium service.

From your perspective, you have paid premium and expect premium service.

From C&C perspective, your car is 1 of the hundreds sold to match sales margin of one C63.

Well, I also have to agree,

And seems that people who buy on poverty specs is disliking every post that both of us made.  [smash]

[idea]

the strange part on paying premium prices is like COE.

You pay high or low, there will be the expectation of certain service level from the money you plonk.

It can sometimes stretch your imagination that people WILL insist on printing a receipt just because they park BUT will not collect it.

I suppose the entitlement mentality is quite an interesting fact of life .

I once ask a conti sales guy. Why would anyone buy a strip down version of a car.?

The response was,

well for one, the entry level cars are not meant for the Have. In our country, face value is super important. And If you sell cheap to compete with the bread and butter line, no one would buy. Because than its known as a cheapskate alternative. So have to charge a premium in order to sell.

The logic escapes me. But its true, be it diesel or 1.6. It was selling like hotcakes.

But how to support the runaway sales? And yet retain the atas service level?

So they split up the showroom for the wetmarket uncles and aunties

In fact, he mention that sometimes its like ladies night on Wednesday. People get cheese off and turn away. Because it is after all, ladies night to attract the spending power for eye candy. Not auntie night.

They even have a marking of sort from the service file to attribute different service level to the customer.

I went away laughing at the conversation. Crazy sales guy.

Used to drive the supercharged kompressor model.. no problem with it or the engine throughout the 6 to 7 year of ownership.

Only issue was the melted light wires that kept blowing out the bulbs.

oh. thats sort of like running too hot for the lamps I spposed.

My ex golf use to have that as well. Needed to get someone to rewire the loom of the lamp at 180 dollars.

Sad truth lol

It's the same even for other industries.

Also just to share, if you ever notice once you have talk to many people like them, you realize they are smart people that knows what they are doing. They will chat and say things to your liking. They will tune to your frequency, strike some kind of interest and friendship with you, so you will likely in the near future turn to them for purchase.

I would take things with a pinch of salt and see what I see, fill out what I can find out.

There is a minimum standard that they have to uphold and they know it.

We shouldn't need to find an excuse for them so they can do their work "easier".

We might earn our living not as easy as many here, so one will see the worth in every penny they put it.

I understand you point of expectations and not to be too anal about it, but everyone perception is different.

Can we ask them to price their cars cheaper? No they can't they will tell you its Mercedes  and they say "its a premium products and their service is premium". If you buy that reasoning, you will made that purchase. They offer "premium", most people expect "premium", I feel its alright to have expectations.

its sadly its true that 1 C63 sales is much higher than a normal c class, but dun forget that they sold these in numbers.

They need numbers and good support / reputation to sustain that kind of sales.

A good businessman will know what to do. Cannot drop that kind of quality service because they only want to sell only more expensive goods. Its those B&B cars that accumulate sales. IF it is, its so short sighted.

I don't have a rich dad to help me.

I will not buy B&B model within premium brand.  That's the volume driver => less premium service.

In Singapore, car after sales service is secondary consideration as there will be a lot of willing buyer especially premium brand like 3 pointed star.

Let speak of the definition and expectation

If you watch the k drama Descendants of the sun and expect a chopper to drop on the roof top to come fetch you kind of service. Then you be surely disappointed.

If you down scale a bit to having a lion dance to welcome you when you visit, it will also be non-existence.

It an irrefutable truth that its not right to sign off on work that is not worked on 3 times like the SMRT saga. But there there is no crime to take money from people who wants to buy expensive stuff and not offer an equal level of service.

They do offer "equatable" service level, like a bus commuter and a bus passenger.

They even offer an obligatory good morning , welcome to macdonald kind of greeting. Thats about it.

So what is the different level ?

For BMW 7 series , you can charter a catamaran or even have a concierge service on the M car series.

So what about merc and if there is a break fixed for the car that is stuck in the workshop?

It depends on the model of A class or C class.

If you driving an AMG A45 vs C180. you find out soon enough.

Just like flying SQ biz class and cattle class. Don't expect the same level of service. Heck, u don't even get to board first, even if you are early. So you have to level set your expectation.

You will still be serve like any other human being.

But just like what is being said.

All man are equal. But some man are more equal than others.

I wonder why are there so many bros that are so eager to tell C Class owners or buyers that they 'only' own a basic entry level car?

Hmm...

When I look at my car now, should I feel buyer's regret, and swop it for a Lexus or something else I wonder..

Nah... I am happy driving my even lower class, less than entry level bread van  [drivingcar]

Love the exterior shape of the C Class, keep enjoying your ride :)

It isn't the Jockey Club but I think the reception I get for my bread van is fine. Probably about the same for the C class.

It's about the same or slightly better than Kah ..

Most important for me is that the issues are sorted and service is prompt :)

They will and do sort out problems for you if there is any on the car.

But if you compare to say optimum service level like Ritz Calton vs calton hotel than its a separate discussion.

So what do I mean ?

If you were to walk into ritz Calton and ask for direction to a meeting room with ANY ritz Calton staff, they will usher you to the meeting room destination and not direct you by giving you instructions.

But as you have mention. Its good enough and they dont have to bend over backwards.

So like a higher end cars, they even offer to send the car back to your office so that you are not inconvenienced to come back to pick it up.

If you meant that the service staff treat you with great disdain with a higher than thou attitude.. Want to buy, buy.. dont want to buy done deal kind of look,  Then no, they would not do that.

I had made similar comment on owners of F30 316.

It is never about the class.  It is about the range within each class.

If 1 owns A45, i believe it receive a better service than C180.

Sigh... I think I look too entry level..

When I go there, no one escorts me.. ha ha

Actually I have that service too... for my bread cart. But I suppose for the S Class they will give more trips. I only get six..

And it isn't Rebecca Sides who sends my car ;)

In nowadays context, just be contented that you are owning and driving a car, be is whatever car you are driving; as when come heavy rain or very bad, hot weather, you can still afford not to squeeze into public transport" or waddle thru very wet or flooded places! -_-

C class facelift due in next yearâs Geneva car show.

Facelift usually cosmetic.. don't really need to wait for it. If u want just buy.

Unless it's a complete change like from w203 to w204 or w205

IMHO, all this talk about entry level premium conti is old in the tooth. If one is to look deeper into the issue, it is not the car itself but rather the buyers.

And looking at the buyers, you have to dissect out those who bought it purely for the badge or just simply fitting into the budget for a comfortable premium feel ride than equivalent models from other brands for the same money.

Not all drivers have need for (or appreciate) superb handling, not all need the engine performance from a 2L/3L turbo, not all need the pano roof, not all need comand online, not all need burmester, not all need or appreciate the AMG-line kits.

I would have loved to own the 3L twin turbo version of my car model, but it was launched at a later time and truth to be told, even if it is launched earlier when I was shopping for my car, I do not think I will want to spend too much on a depreciating asset in Singapore even if I can afford it.

I suspect what ticks the rest off is the behaviour of the small group of badge whores that dangle their keyfob around making sure they are seen, strut around their cars making sure everyone sees what car they own, and smattering their conversations with my benz this my mercedes that.

I did notice, the typical Merc buyer is a tad more fussy and there's a certain sense of entitlement?

I didn't get that at Kah or Toyota..

Maybe it's just the vibe.. I also felt I paid an arm and a leg, but it's merely a sub entry level car.. oh well

Cake aunty here I come :)
