American "pony" car ... long hood, short rear. http://m.sgcarmart.com/new_cars/overview.php?CarCode=11650 Its 5L V8 or nothing bro No matter how powerful that 2.3L Ecoboost is, its still a tiny 4 cyln Muscle cars is about big power from idle onwards, not torque o/p that shoots up and down across the rpm and the need to rev hard just to get big power. And an exhaust note that sounds like a sewing machine... How macho can that be? Has regent brought in the 5L V8 6MT Mustang already? PI already done so

Ehh.... how prestige is the Ford badge in SG anyway? Regent is not known for their services and after sales And Ford Europe average reliability remains a big worry... not much better than VW. That Ford 5-6speed dual clutch gb... really OMG... My girl... I mean close fren... have a current model Ford Fiesta in Bangkok and that GB is a constant bitch to have. Jerk when moving off, whole car shudder when starting off from a slope. Helped her talk to Ford dealer in BKK also no use. They cannot fix whats essentially a design flaw. Granted the Mustang is a true blue yankee machine so reliablity will be better than any Ford sold in SG so far, but how many sinkies can relate to that? Some may think the Mustang may be from Thailand since we have the Ford Ranger and Everest for sale here as well. Anyway this Mustang is not a superbly agile handler out of the factory. If you need a great handling muscle car, you will need to buy a Camaro.

If you need a great handling muscle car, you will need to buy a Camaro. Agree that Ford is not very popular in Sg. Ford Fiesta in Thailand is using the old engine and gearbox, and it is made in Thailand. Whereas Ford Fiesta Sg is using the new 1.0 Ecoboost Engine and PowerShift dual clutch gearbox made in Germany. FYI, Ford & VW uses dual clutch gearbox from different manufacturer, Getrag and BorgWarner. Even so, VW has also been improving on their geabox reliability issues. The best selling car in Europe is still the Golf & Fiesta. So I guess they probably thinks that reliability is not a factor they consider while buying car? Every brands has their pros and cons and unique features. One man's meat is another man's poison. FYI, right hand drive Mustang is currently only being built in Flat Rock, Michigan. Mustang is still more popular in the world compared to Camaro as of 2015. However, if the Camaro is available in Sg I'm sure it'll be a great competition to the Mustang. Till then, Mustang shall be dominating the American Muscle title in Sg. Just sharing. Edited July 26, 2016 by jimmy1289

Some people might just want it's unique looks. Anyway, exhaust sound aside, the 2.3 ecoboost is already outperforming most of the old mustangs. I mean, this car in the late 90s, had 140hp from a 4.7 litre engine! But if its 255k, unless you just want the looks, a S45,3/440i,XE S is a better deal even if a bit more expensive. The 5.0 I sat in really had cheapish interior and not so good build quality.

Ake109 6th Gear July 31, 2016 Share July 31, 2016 Thats called rental extension You technically own the car lah, just that you don't have the right to use it on a public road. You are free to park it as an ornament on your private land as long as you want.
Jq1988 4th Gear July 31, 2016 Share July 31, 2016 You don't get to "own" a car in Sg anyway. Yes, we don't own a car in sg. After 10 years, scrap!!! Want to keep , pay money $$$

Keei 2nd Gear August 2, 2016 Share August 2, 2016 Yes, we don't own a car in sg. After 10 years, scrap!!! Want to keep , pay money $$$ We don't own anything in SG. What we are using are just rental from the Gov, which is somehow worded to make you feel you are the owner. Yes, Mustang is sweeett.... Makes sense in US & sells well there. But in SG, with the tax scheme based on car CC. It's illogical to buy this car in SG.

jimmy1289 2nd Gear August 2, 2016 Share August 2, 2016 So which year-make of the Mustang will come to Singapore?2016 manufacturing year. Anyway, factory has stopped taking orders for RHD (Right Hand Drive) Mustang due to overwhelming demand from the LHD market. So, to fulfil the LHD market orders, next batch of Mustang and Focus RS coming to Sg will likely to be in the end of 2017. ↡ Advertisement
