MALACCA: Holy cow! Armed robbers got 30 cows onto a lorry and fled after robbing five foreign workers of belongings worth RM8,000 at a farm in Taman Bukit Rambai here.
At least 15 men, armed with pistols and parang, stormed into the staff quarters at the farm to stage the 2am robbery yesterday.
A Nepali victim, who goes by the name Rakesh, 38, said the intruders threatened them not to raise the alarm.
“We thought they came to only steal our belongings but they wanted the livestock, too,” he said, adding that he and a 40-year-old co-worker were injured when the robbers tied them up with nylon ropes.
Rakesh said the robbers warned them not to flee until the 30 cows were all put into a waiting lorry.
“It was a terrifying moment for us. The robbers acted aggressively and we dared not fight back,” he said, adding that before fleeing, the robbers grabbed their handphones and cash, amounting to about RM8,000.
The losses incurred by the farm amounted to about RM75,000.
“We untied ourselves soon after and sought help from neighbours,” Rakesh said.
Melaka Tengah OCPD Assistant Commissioner Salehhudin Abd Rahman said preliminary investigations showed that about 15 people were involved in the robbery.
“The case is being investigated under Section 397 of the Penal Code,” he added.

The lorry is which brand and which make? So tokong can carry 30 skinny cows.

You can still see those very very old (probably >40 YO) MB lorries with puny 5,000 cc engine ferrying full lorry load of logs.

if the police want to catch them, it is quite difficult to miss a lorry overcrowded with cows
