My 2 cents worth of tots... If you want to use powerbank in the car, make sure its kept in a cooler area- eg car boot. Car Cabin tempreture could easily reach 70 deg cel in SG. Using sub standard powerbank could lead to explosion of the inferior lithium ion battery in the power bank...

If you are looking for a good powerbank, best is to DIY. Buy those powerbank casing from ebay and get the battery separately from reputable online store such as fast tech (search for "18650"). Forget about those 15000mha powerbank, unless they are using 6x18650 cell, otherwise, ... the highest capacity 18650 battery I came acrossis only rated 3500mha (Sanyo NCR series 18650 cell) and multiply by 4, you could only get 14000mha.

Alternatively, if you have access of faulty notebook battery, dismentle those faulty battery and take the battery cell out. The notebook manufacturer usually use good quality cell for the battery. Dispose those cell that leak (you could see stain on the battery), fully charge the good condition battery and measure the voltage, you should get a reading of 3.6V to 4.2V. Leave it a side for a week and measure again. If the voltage could maintain, chances is, the battery is still pretty good healthy and you could use it to built your powerbank.

Neutral Newbie

Power bank is now very useful for all mobile users. Larger the capacity of the power bank you decide to purchase, the longer it may take to charge. But you also have to charge the power bank before using it. Recently Realme has launched very nice colorful power banks with good service also. Do not think those powerbank for mobile phone suitable:

- do not support 12V output natively (unless PD/QC compatible devices) but none of the car cam are PD/QC compliance.

- Not practical as most powerbank doesn't support pass-through charging. Meaning, when you are driving your car, your powerbank is supplying your dashcam as well as getting charged with the moving car.

- May not able to go into parking mode (e.g. due to missing ignition connection/check). It will always be in continuous recording mode and your powerbank will take a toll in it's battery life.

- Usually for carcam battery, they are using LiFoPO4 chemistry which has lower density (bigger size) but less susceptible to bloating for safety reason.
