A relative of the boy, who is an Integrated Programme student, told Chinese evening daily Lianhe Wanbao that he was getting ready to do warm-up exercises but fainted before beginning his run. The relative added that the student had informed the PE teacher that he did not feel well, moments before collapsing. Police have classified the case as an unnatural death and are investigating. This is the second such case this week. The Tanglin Secondary student had been jogging during the lesson, before he collapsed and was sent from his school in Clementi to the National University Hospital, according to a Shin Min Daily report on Tuesday. The boy's father told the evening paper that he had sent his son to school that morning and he had looked "normal". Police confirmed the incident, and said they received a call on Monday morning at 8.27am requesting assistance at 301 West Coast Road. A spokesman said that on their arrival, a male subject was conveyed unconscious to NUH, where he was subsequently pronounced dead on the same day. Police are investigating the unnatural death. Atonchia Supersonic January 16, 2014 Share January 16, 2014 The question on the 16 yr old boy who died was. Did he have sufficient rest the days before, ie enough sleep. I remember I used to stay up very late at that age. Nowadays with computer gaming, studies and social media. Plenty of reasons to stay up late. Hope his family can come to term of the loss. Atonchia Supersonic January 16, 2014 Share January 16, 2014 On hindsight .. a lot of our P.E. and NAPFA tests seem to be geared towards preparation for N.S. (for the boys anyway) .. but is there FFI like N.S. ? Don't recall. FFI is only medical test and review to check that those 35 and above are medically fit to serve and to take IPPT.
