they must put a u-turn sign for cars like Cherry QQ.

I see those kei cars 660cc gg up and down happily. [laugh] QQ can do better?

Japan is an automatic car market and those Japenis auto tranny is like no engine brake one. Wonder how to tong when downslopping! [rolleyes]

I do see similar kind of flyover in Segamat MY though not as steep.

Not true. Last Dec I got a rental Altis 1.8L with CVT in Taiwan. When I drove to Cingjing mountain, initial I used manual gear for down slope. Later discover the CVT will always downshift for engine brake when going steeper downslope.

In japan, most car there are using CVT

Don't think this design will work in Singapore

sure disaster during thunderstorms

Will not due to the thunderstorms. Japan typhoon winds speed and rain is much stronger than here.

More concern is many kuku driver locally do not know how to drive when the road is not flat and straight. They cannot keep in lane. Plus they do not know how to step harder on the accelerator to drop a gear or two to go up the slope, then will become road hogging again.

Engineering feat for Jap

It is possible in japan as:

- It is hard to have a pass vehicle inspection so cars are always kept in tip top conditions.

- 4 seasons of weather so drivers are trained to use the correct gear and amount of acceleration.
