Altivo 3rd Gear March 18, 2014 Share March 18, 2014 Hi Folks, I'm driving a 2008 avante. Just now while driving home after dinner, when i turn on the light switch, the rear lights are lit as usual However, i noticed that both main brake lights and the 3rd brake light do not light up when i depress the brake pedal. Is it a fuse issue or something else? ↡ Advertisement
Kb27 Supersonic March 18, 2014 Share March 18, 2014 Sounds like a fuse. Check your fuse panel for the brake lights.
Heartbreakid 6th Gear March 19, 2014 Share March 19, 2014 Have the workshop checked on the brake switch. I encountered the same issue as yours and it turns out to be the failure of the brake switch.

Thanks. Just to be clear. When i switch on the light switch, the rear lights all lit up. But as you know, Avante brake light bulb has 2 filaments. The second filament should light up when the brake pedal is depressed and this is not happening. So could be brake light switch issue ah? Can you PM me your w/s? Heartbreakid 6th Gear March 19, 2014 Share March 19, 2014 (edited) Yes, I know. It is exactly the same as what you have encountered. Turn on lights the tail lights will lit. Brake pedal depress brake lights all none, including third brake lights. Edited March 19, 2014 by Heartbreakid
Optramagnum 6th Gear March 19, 2014 Share March 19, 2014 Something wrong with your fuse box . Likely due to lose cables. Unless it's so coincidence that all your light bulbs burst together , 1% possibility.
Altivo 3rd Gear March 19, 2014 Author Share March 19, 2014 Ah ok. It was the brake light switch indeed. Went to get the brake light switch from stockist during lunch. Just spent 10 mins replacing it myself. Yeah! Brake lights are working again!!! Thanks once again for the advices ↡ Advertisement
