for me, it's Lai Heng. This one over here is wetter than many others, and what is wonderful about it is that it captures that “wok hei” in the cooking process and it must be paired with their Otah.

Standard probably dropped, because I notice the queues are shorter these days...

Actually with long queue, where got time to fry properly leh. You need the fire and frying to achieve the result. But people like queue somehow.

In the old days ... ckt were more on the sweet side . Bec they put dark sweet source.

I still prefer the old style like in 70s/80s .

Thank you very much

When I go on Sunday I only buy the Kway Chup.

Also dunno why the queue became longer.

About 2yrs ago I told the lady the small and large intestines wasn’t prepared properly....

She was a bit offended say that’s how the taste was like.

I reply I visited your stall regularly so it’s really not prepared properly the week before......

Think sometimes we need to sound out politely to the stall holder if something is amiss.

Queue has been there regularly since.

worth to try ? I dont like salty food [grin]

1st time I tried the stall.

Can’t really comment.

I will not purposely go there for CKT.

But will go queue up at

1) Zion Rd Mkt

2) Bedok Sth Blk 16 Hill St CKT

3) Telok Blangah Mkt if I remember correctly

I went about 2pm

So likely after peak hours still have 5 people ahead of me,

Then I sat down for the CKT, still have same number of people in queue...

I did see a plate that was barely touched left on the table.

So the salty style is not for everyone.

I did finish all but will not purposely go there for CKT.

I prefer Mutton soup.

I ate at a new stall Apollo Penang Char Kuay Teow at Block 293 Yishun St 22 in Dec 2018. The owner Poh Loh does a really really good version of Penang style ckt with superior ingredients like sua lor prawns. Currently my favourite!

Maybe the stall owner slow in frying the ckt? So even at off peak hours still have queue? Mutton soup is high in cholesterol and also heaty, not everyone can take it.
