Sometimes, it is better to overshoot and miss an exit than to do all sorts of stunts to try to get in - late entry at high speed like this is one. I have seen other people stop on the shoulder, reverse 10-20 metres to make the exit. Its just not worth it!

Additionally, owners/drivers should know their own vehicles well and know its limits.

 

Be responsible if one is fetching passengers and drive safely.

 

Treat the public roads with care as there are innocent road users.

 

Bring the speed to controlled environment such as the tracks or circuits (where drivers will be required to wear helmets and gloves etc.)

 

 

 

 

I am sure this Golf R driver will think he knows his car well too. knowing a car well and its limits should not be the reason for speeding on a public road and think he can drive like Senna.

It seems the Golf R is speeding- the funny thing from lane 1 to lane3 to exit Marine Vista- normal driver who stay around the areas will keep left as this is not the normal expressway with 2 lane.

 

i think the driver overstimated the angle and the narrow single lane and sharp curve of the exit which at that speed is not able to get out unlike the normal expressway exit.

 

Maybe the driver is not familiar with the areas and yet speed so fast maybe at that speed can take the bedok exit. Pure reckless driving.

Not sure what kind of assistance do you expect people to give? I would suppose calling the ambulance and police would be sufficient. This kind of accident, inappropriate extrication could have just killed the injured. In any case, the car was out of the road and not blocking anyone.

 

But seriously what was the driver thinking? Even in the dry, he thought he could pull that off? Visibility was clear, surely he could see how sharp the bend was?

 

Cam car may not have enough time to stop safely. If there's passenger onboard, better to get passenger to call 995.

 

 

 

 

 

that's what i wondering. i wasn't sure myself ... i remember the case of the lorry that sideswiped the teacher on her motorbike and even in heavy traffic quite a few people pulled over immediately to help the lady right? i myself not sure if i would have been able to stop safely if i was there in this case ... so just having a lot of questions ><

1. Car obviously speeding - so stupid and dangerous. Whether he meant to exit there or there was some form of mechanical failure - the driver very very stupid.

2. Deliberately not cursing the driver - having killed and lost his life through stupidity is, IMHO punishment enough - no matter what, his family and friends have still suffered a loss and they will have to live with the knowledge of what he has done as well.

3. A LOT of IRE reserved for the camera car, no attempt at all to stop and help. THAT deserves scolding and cursing - he had time to stop, if he wanted to. Even if going to the airport, he could have stopped - the traffic was light, absolutely no excuses for him. I hope that he lives with the knowledge that people were hurt and he didn't care. Selfish b**tardish

With that kind of speed.... No wonder surrender IC.. Can't blame anyone else or the tree.. Irresponsible driver .. Imagine if he crashed into a family vehicle with kids in it... The outcome will be dreadful.... The lost of lives is always a tragedy. stay safe and think of ur family at all times. Trying to save that 5 to 10mins at the expense of lives?? From 1st lane cut across 3 lanes to exit the expressway at high speed...

Yet, we witness this stunt on the expressways almost everyday, dun we?

 

Just dun understand why these fellas die die must overtake the foremost car, leaving very short distance to take the exit....

Car is obviously speeding, and insurer will have an easy time on this.

 

The front 2 are dead, and only the back passengers will live to tell the horror stories... why didn't they try to stop the driver from speeding and turning / exiting at such a pace?!

 

Questions aplenty. But, lives are lost and no matter what explanations, these won't bring back the lives.

 

As much as we are asking, some close family members have lost their dearest kins....

I believe its way above 150kph, just stand along the road and see how a car travelling around 60kph zoom past you and you will feel that it's not even faster than the Golf zooming pass the cam car.
