CTE Exits Closure

Recommended Posts

Early morning (6.20am) whilst driving to work, had been hearing over radio (90.5) repeatly that closure of CTE exits on 5th May 2014 (today) at Merchant Road exit and Yio Chu Kang exit to SLE from 7.00am to 11.59pm. (Northward)

Never hear any reason for the closure of the exits. Tried login to LTA web and Onemotoring but no details of the closure.

KNN, at least give us the reason for the closure over the radio lar ... [mad]

If one will to miss the announcement, and upon arriving at YCK exit, has to make a big 'U' turn at Upp Thomson Road junction and back to SLE again ... [sweatdrop]

Any brothers know the reason for closure ? [wave]

The new flyover is nearer to Jalan Kayu side going into Seletar Camp.

YCK exit to SLE is going into a tunnel before coming out to SLE toward TPE on right lane and on the left lane to Yishun.. [grin]

They are building a new entrance from seletar west/yishun dam area directly into CTE. I'm not really sure exactly how it works.

U can see the semi built flyover or exit/entrance ramp just after the exit to TPE.

I thought this type of flyover construction they will only do during mid-night?

"To facilitate road resurfacing works, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) will temporarily close CTE (SLE) Exit 15 to Yio Chu Kang Road on 5, 6 and 7 May 2014 from 12.00am to 05.00am.

Affected motorists are advised to bypass the closure and use SLE (BKE) Exit 1 to TPE (PIE), turn left at Exit 12, U-turn at Jalan Kayu Flyover to TPE (SLE) and turn left at Exit 14 to Yio Chu Kang Road.

Alternatively, instead of u-turning at Jalan Kayu Flyover, motorists may travel along Jalan Kayu, turn right at Sengkang West Avenue and turn left at Sengkang West Road to Yio Chu Kang Road."

How come 90.5 DJs (Flying Dutchman & partner) informed 7.00am to 11.59pm in their 'traffic updates' this morning.... [crazy]

Maintenance, maybe road resurfacing :)

Good lah, make it more comfortable for us :)

Don't be too happy.

Nowadays newly surfaced road seemed to be worse, all bumpy.

At Seletar West Link exit to TPE, I would use a section of the old road as the newly paved section is worse.

Fully agreed on this. The stretch of CTE after the tunnel towards SLE after the widening, the road became very bumpy like KPE tunnel.

Transport of Diesel is not approved to take CTE as a route... Transport of Petroleum only approved to travel on CTE (Above ground)...

Why oil spilled in the tunnel?
