To add on to the thread , it IS a little disconcerting when your landlord jumps the rental from $27xx to $ 3300 in one go bcoz of whatever ' artificial scarcity  ' .

Of late, this is no more news but norm everywhere. This 'jump' is now considered reasonable. It is important to look into it and find out why. Demand outstrip supply and why.
