It would be like driving a tank... able to cross all types of terrain... but the downside may be speed limitation...

yeah... amazing isn't it?

other than youtube videos, i never really seen any local shops offering or testing these tires on local climate.

i wonder how much they cost if it is available locally.

Like that all sport rims out of biz liao....

Will the structure be able to cope with high pressure and temperature. See also scare.

Looks promising. Without alloy rims I think the weight savings will be a lot and you no longer need a spare. Heck, you dun even need a jack or wheel changing tools. On paper the car will be a lot lighter. Car makers can fully utilise the boot space. Imagine you dun have to do wheel balancing.

Only question is how will be the grip performance, comfort levels and noise level will be like? How it performs at high speed as some of you are concerned.

From the videos it looks good as off road tires. It's ideal coz it allows more grip and it won't puncture going over sharp rocks and stones. I think the WRC drivers will be very happy to use them.

yes, amazing indeed. Looks cool too :) It shows the inside but have heard that if it's in the market, could be covered instead.

Have seen similar prototypes overseas. It seems that before this technology is offered to the mass (cars), tyres for bicycles using this kind of technology could be seen first to the mass if it's priced right.

Interesting times we live in :)

Nice thoughts bro. [thumbsup][idea]

No need rims, no need spare, can save fuel :) [thumbsup]

Have seen that there's ATVs which are using these airless tyres in the States, can't wait to see how they fare! :)

wah, scary thought bro if airless tyres go into mass production and no need for sports rims liao [sweatdrop] because we sell sports rims too. haha [;)]

Have a good rest of the week ahead guys!

ya from the way i see it, again it is going to compromise on speed.

how so?

most of the metal roads we travel on are pretty flat. how will speed be compromised in this case?

Mich designed this years ago and calls it the tweel

:D

Woah it has been there since 2006? [dizzy] And yet not rolled out to the industry?

It looks flimsy to me when travelling on high speed... and never seen in the market since 2006?

Well, it'd be interesting to see it physically, and if can test drive with it, even better.

i wonder if any of the tire companies here will be adventurous enough to bring a set or two in to trial. *hint* *hint* [sly]

Wheel designs have not progress much. Especially bicycle wheels.

New designs are so simple, cheaper to make and absorbs shock better

Nice videos on bicycle tyres!

Agree bro, simpler designs with better tech in making the materials improving over the years.

Let's see what car tyres will evolved into a few years down the road :)
