Hi all Mazda 5 owners, am looking for a 2016-2018 Mazda 5. I was originally looking at Wish, however chance upon Mazda 5. How does Mazda 5 compare to Wish in terms of: 1. FC, 2. Third Row space, 3. Maintenance cost.

There are a lot of Wish on the road, so I know getting a Wish is a safe bet, but I like the idea of sliding door.

As these 2 are close competitors, you really need to drive both to see which one you prefer. Everyone will arrive at their own opinion, and they'll always differ.

Below is my feedback on those points you listed:

1.  Average   2.Decent   3. Expect typical Japanese maintenance cost. (No strict maintenance regime needed on gearbox as it's not CVT)

Advantages of sliding door:

  1. Easier to get in and out at tight parking spot. But watch out for obstruction before you press the open button.
  2. Quick to hop on or off at MRT drop off point, especially when it's raining. (For safety reason, driver need to shift to P before auto door can work)

Dear Bros and season owners,

I bought a 2nd hand 2016 Mazda 5 back in Jan this year.

Today I encountered this when I drive.

My instrument cluster showed ABS light on, DSC light on, Hand brake light on and i-stop light keeps flashing. All these lights come out at the same time during my drive. My i-stop didn't kick in when all these lights are up. But my car still drive as normal, no power loss, no braking issues, air con still cold.

I went to my regular car workshop to check, and my mechanic said it's the ABS pump spoiled and quote me $800 minimum.

Do any one of you here encountered this before?

Any advice or workshop recommendations? I need 2nd opinion on this.

Please help. This is the 1st time I encountered this.

Can look at the attached picture

There is no such thing as 4 items spoil at 1 time. Time to change battery, and make sure to clean contact. Happened to me 2 days ago. The battery seller did not clean contacts, ask me to drive more. Next day, start engine fine, but came back later. I went to my regular service workshop to do diagnosis. They clean contacts for me foc. Mine is 6 years car. Yes, still can drive safely even with 4 items light up. I am still a user, not mechanic. I suspect the old battery juice cause the problem. Buy the efb battery for I-stop.

Check if body panel repair shop can fix it. Otherwise, you may have to get from Mazda AD.

Hi  my mazda 5 is also 7.5 years old. I am on 0w 20 for the last 5 years and all good. But you may like to check your engine oil dip occasionally as the engine oil will burn off a little more... but so far Good for 10,000km.

Cheers!

About time to send mine in for servicing too. I'll stay with 0w20.

Our Mazda 5 active engines are good with 0w20... I really enjoyed this specs! Cheers!!

Hi. I recently purchased a (used) 2016 Mazda 5, low mileage under 75k in 7 years. Mostly no issue with the car except suspension spring squeaking when turning or some bumpy road. Car has been serviced at AD since day 1 and last one was end-May, so not sure why this wasnt picked up as it is a bit annoying.

How long do the suspension springs typically last on Mazda 5? Anyone changed them before, or “upgraded” to coilovers?

I also noted there are 2 “specialist” Mazda workshops: Monster and KHY. Any pros and cons of each? Would ideally like to address my squeaky springs issue at either one as they might have more familiarity with replacement part? Would also ideally like a firmer suspension that what I have now.

Also, any recommendation for more “jiak” brake pads? Feel the stock one braking distance a bit too long.

Feedback and guidance appreciated 🙏🏻

Blaupunkt Car Dash Cam BP9.0

Hi.  Urgently needed help to locate local technical support for the Blaupunkt Car Dash Cam BP9.0 installed by Eurokas in Mazda 5 car.

Seems like all my dash cam recorded files are corrupted.  Eg.  Recording file show 20221030 1600 when I download the video file and watch, the recorded video shows 28 Jul 2022 (past recorded file)

serious breach....

Blaupunkt Dashcam version is  1.1.604

if need video for evidence in times of accident, then I am roasted.

Wonder if anyone encounter the same issue.

Pls share Blaupunkt Singapore local technical support if u know one.
