Their tourism is already taking a beating after MH370 incident. Now what VEP? Are they sure they want to dig a grave and bury their tourism? LoL...

It will be interesting to see what lame things they will say and do.

They trying to recoup the losses by charging us.....idiots!

First hit will be those go in every few days for petrol, then the weekly grocery shopper.

But it will not deter those weekly golfers or those driving in to other states for holiday :D

Remember the old days when you had to get entry permit from that little place off Holland Rd (just after Dempsey) to drive into m'sia?

The scholars killed 2 birds with one stone..

More revenue from vehicles that die die have to come in..commercial truck etc

Less Jams from lesser non commercial related vehicles..

The finale is...

...

...

They know by increasing the toll, the ego guy across the bridge will also increase.. it's call face off earn some face..

More Singaporean detered from driving in hence lesser spending in JB... Hence mote spending in Singapore.. More local business, + more GST earned!

Huat ah!

Will we see more cars get scrapped? Particularly those marginal owners that need to visit JB for petrol?

Imagine the increase if substantially enough will offset whatever savings they get from grocery shopping and cheaper petrol, then when spending is re-directed in Singapore, it's going to hurt the pocket of this group.

What do SG gain by increasing the toll charge per day? To earn revenue from there? Well.. maybe..

The main thing is maybe to trigger a reaction from the other side, which they think should trigger the desired reaction, which is also to increase back. the ego guy across does the same.. it's call face off earn some face..

More Singaporean detered from driving in hence lesser spending in JB... Hence mote spending in Singapore.. More local business, + more GST earned! Smart move, very smart.

Then built the high speed train, revenues shared between 2 government, increase bus services etc..

Huat ah!

They are the smartest living in this planet [scholar][thumbsup]

It shd between RM15 to RM30 bah? Anything more would be prohibitive liao [sweatdrop]

Should be the same figure as the malaysian cars coming into Singapore. The difference is only the currency.

Then I go KL can get refund from JB or not?

Sometimes I drive to KL if I'm attending a client dinner but does not want to stay overnight so just drive back as no more flight..

If really have additional toll like rm50 per day, i wouldn't drive anymore and I may just spend company $ n stay that additional 1 night n fix up another breakfast meeting before flying back.. both government huat on both side1
