In Germany, there is EUR 6k difference in starting price btw both models.

4GC is a lifestyle car. Definitely more ex than b&b model.

6K difference in europe will translate to about 18k higher in cost when AD in Singapore imports it over. So if they price it 25k higher over here than the sedan, kind of reasonable. But just wondering if can afford 25k more, maybe one can consider a bigger powered engine in the 328 already?

It is much more sleek looking than 3 series sedan or 3 series GT. The frameless windows are another distintive feature that are available only for the 4 and 6 series.

$25k difference is not big if you amortise it over 10 years. if the OMV is higher than 3 series, as someone mentioned, then it is another basis for the price difference. Someone mentioned buying a 420 GC vs a 325 sedab, for example. Power is better in the 325 sedan, but styling is still the same as all other 3-series sedans.

May not be suitable as a family transport because of the 2+2 configuration and lower roofline. So when more singles and young couples drive 4GC, and more familiies drive 3 series, it would be another self-fulfilling model differentiation factor. So a buyer should ask himself - which customer segment do you want to be associated with?

Is it a 2+2? I thought like CLA, it seats 3 at the back (though will be cramped)

Yes, it will be cramp! Even the 6 which is a 2+2+1 and bigger than the 4, the +1 is really for a child who has to sit legs spread open!

Sometimes is really a dilemma to choose between lifestyle/looks versus practicality.

Simple solution for you.

Tear it a part. 1 car for practicality & 1 car for lifestyle.

To me, 4GC is less ugly than 3GT. 6GC is a beauty.

Actually, F32 4GC sitting on same platform / wheelbase as F30 3er but similar shape as 3GT who is on same platform stretched wheelbase .. is naturally better looking. But 3GT is pretty practical, more spacious than 5er (rear legroom and boot space), and share similar front snout and rear boot opening as 4GC. It's just longer and higher. Both with frameless window as well, and most importantly, both made in Germany, whereas 3er made in RSA.

No money to buy both.
