interesting..... and Scotland is likely to become independent in mid-Sept

when that happens, Great Britain and the United Kingdom will become invalid (existed for 307 years already, since 1707)

what will they be called then?

UK was the superpower of yesteryears, and it has been on the decline these days for many decades. The former Soviet Unions has experienced the same though Putin is trying very hard to reverse its decline in recent years.

USA may be heading the same direction while China is getting stronger though it still has many domestic problems unresolved.

if Zheng He colonised the lands during his seven trips to Southeast Asia, Indian Ocean and East Africa, maybe today China is still Ming Dynasty?

I'm not sure that graphic you posted is quite correct. Nobody uses the term Britain to mean just England and Wales. If anything Britain is more commonly used to mean the UK, i.e. including Northern Ireland (and Scotland of course). The prefix Great was added to distinguish the island of Britain from Brittany (Bretagne) in northern France, and this naming was probably laced with a certain amount of Gallic sarcasm.

From Wikipedia:

The term Britain is widely used as a common name for the sovereign state of the United Kingdom, or UK for short. The United Kingdom includes three countries on the largest island, which can be called the island of Britain or Great Britain: these are England, Scotland and Wales. However the United Kingdom also includes Northern Ireland.
