Deranged 2nd Gear August 27, 2014 Share August 27, 2014 Can afford an E Class so what's 3K for insurance? Agreed with all... Not all SUVs now are off-road capable... Some are just for show like the BMW's SUVs... Expensive and just when you think you can go off-road with it, you are stuck on just a wet grass slope... If it's E200 is that also 3K for insurance? Or do the insurers generally follow engine cap? The ultimate off road SUV, IMO - still belongs to the Defender. Speaking of which, why not try on a full sized 7 seat Defender P110 instead of any other MPV? ... http://www.twistedautomotive.com/the-definitive-110-edition.html Could be cheaper since it's likely to be "G" plate + runs on diesel. Only drawback is perhaps the manual shift. It'll be perfect for our "ponding" situations too ↡ Advertisement

It'll be perfect for our "ponding" situations too From what limited knowledge I know, many factors come into play from the underwriters behind the insurance company... There was a period that insurance for Civics and Imprezas were sky high due to the high number of accidents involving these 2 makes... As for why the E class is so damn expensive? Maybe those conti drivers can chip in some pointers... Drove the Defender when I was in the RSAF (MT I/C) but of course cannot compare to privately owned Defenders lah... They call it the "Rover" and I enjoy driving it... Never could imagine what is it like to sit in a "Rover" with aircon... Won't be comfortable for all the passengers as all will be facing each other at the back... Of course can go over any "ponds" in Orchard Road... I also had issues with my 7 yr old Altis (88k mileage) sensor just before I sold it off. I'm not saying that Presages are prone to sensor issues but just relating what happened to my ex-boss's car as he has multiple sensor failures... Of course to be fair it can happen to all cars... What was the sensor you replaced on your Altis?

What was the sensor you replaced on your Altis? O2 sensor. I asked the mechanic if it's a common issue for my ride then, he told me it happens randomly to every make/ model and I'm quite prepared for it to show up on the Presage. Karoon Turbocharged August 28, 2014 Share August 28, 2014 (edited) For the family bus, you still should get a reliable japanese one. For me it's only Toyota and honda. They are really slightly better than the rest. Parts supply is plentyful. With the ford you are at the mercy of the dealer should something major breaks cause hardly anyone else will hold the parts. Unless you can afford to have down time while you get the parts shipped in.Just took a lift from a friend's galaxy. Only one complain from him - its one thirsty car. Also, the statement that you're at dealer's mercy might not be correct today. If your warranty has expired there are many good local workshops today who can supply oem parts at competitive costs and same quality of service as Regent motors. They have a good network and someone will have the parts Edited August 28, 2014 by Karoon

Deranged 2nd Gear August 28, 2014 Share August 28, 2014 iam curious if Mazda 5 comes with power sliding doors on both side or either side or none? if so,can it be controlled using the remote? I believe the newer models do come with powered sliding doors on both sides. The older ones like what I had previously (from 2007) was manual. No idea on remote control. Perhaps aftermarket if you can find a good electrician.

Sabian Turbocharged August 29, 2014 Share August 29, 2014 I changed my O2 sensor late last year but went to the wrong workshop... Kenna chop carrot... I went to Autosaver. Price is slightly higher than stockist. Decided it was not worth the petrol to run around. ↡ Advertisement
