But if dont drive car can buy lots of rolexs ha ha

for ladies one month 1-2 branded handbags / 4-5 pairs branded heels / 1-4 packages for spa, aerobic, slimming, facial...

But if overall revenue drop can b sur pt will up. Cannot pt . Cyclr . Weekend rates for cab rockey as familes bring quick pt a to b for tuition must compensate . Cat d will also likely hit 5 fig . Rev must remain constant at the least or improve .

bro, ur shortform too short for me to understd lol. only understd ur 2nd sentence onward.

yes, cat D may up, but i think mayb not since the big G achieved their objective of more ppl using public tpt, they might moderate coe n other taxes to make public tpt biz more viable. less tax, more biz still = good revenue for big G.

the drop in selling is because they cannot afford ...

from usa to europe ... many of the young adults still got "student debt" and no good jobs

Maybe those young adults are bums.

They don't work, they just want to travel around, see the world.

So no need cars for local transport.

What would be nice, and what I would like to see - ---

Instead of enjoying the massive tax revenue they get by controlling demand thru price while at the same time leaving us with downspecced cars - make cars just as expensive, but make them expensive because they are working towards a genuine traffic solution - car trains, self drive cars, mini trams, personal transport pods, be creative, be original -

OR

if that is not technologically feasible - draw a direct link between COE tax collected and subsidy given to public transport

My view is that (in order of priority):

1) Make public transport the BEST choice for all. I already suggested before, make all trips within CBD/Orchard free, and parking expensive, so people will not have an incentive to drive into town. Perhaps build a few large carparks on the CBD fringe, so people can park and ride. Therefore if you work in Shenton Way and want to go Orchard Road shopping, you can just hop onto a bus/train easily without worry. Finish already go home, whether by car or public. Think about it, with this system, you can remove so many cars away from our crowded city centre.

2) Cars will always be needed to some extent. For example if you go Ikea or bring your family out shopping. Recognise this, and perhaps offer incentives if cars are well-used (fully loaded for example). Many countries have specialised carpool lanes, why not us? A lot of our cars are actually driven by just one person, which is such a waste of space.

3) As best as they can, make most homes and offices accessible to an MRT station (by which I mean 5-10 min walk max). But of course this can't be 100% feasible, but they can try.

Not by choice. Unemployment among youths can be as high as 50% in certain parts of europe. No job how to think of cars?

How come no one from MND come out to say

Condo & other private housing will soon go out of fashion.

All will choose public housing

Never realised it was fashionable to drive car.

for the start, how about all ministers and MPs give up their cars, and go to their offices by walking, cycling and taking public transport?

- See more at: http://www.straitstimes.com/news/singapore/more-singapore-stories/story/cars-may-go-out-fashion-singapore-national-development-m#sthash.EetpvgPp.dpuf

and how about abandoning the stupid Population White Paper and keep the population under control so that we will have more space without sacrificing this and that

I have great confidence in our PAP ministers. They will definitely sell their cars and take public transport. In fact I foresee the PM, VB, Josephine Teo, LTY and Mr Khaw taking the public transport as their main mode of transport to walk the talk! PAP FTW!

Idea!!!

New prerequisite for post of ministers ---- max weight not more than 65kg in order he can ride on upsized drone to get to next parliament sitting!!! Problem solved!!

Ah Khaw looks light enough to be the first minister riding into parliament chamber on his drone, no need COE!!!

Eh, was he talking about himself? Sigh...typical ivory tower mentality. If our public transport can get its act together, then there's hope for cars to go our of fashion. Many ministers in EU take public transport to get to work, why doesn't he lead by example?

BILBAO, Spain - Driverless cars will soon become the reality in cities, and possibly as soon as in the next 10 years, and this will dramatically transform the landscape of urban planning, said Singapore National Development Minister Khaw Boon Wan.

"In time to come, there will be driverless electric cars, in which by then private transport will become less important and therefore, less reliant on road service and land to be set aside for roads and carparks,"

said Mr Khaw, speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the World Cities Summit Mayors Forum in Bilbao, Spain, on Friday. -

Haha, I am quite sure you can find many americans who think their country is driverless.

back to home ground, he may tell you - why you think SG need to be a follower instead of trail blazer.
