read this so many times, wonder how true.

For eg, can I just ask workshop to take out whatever they can, as long as left engine and body ? Doors can remove ?  [laugh]

Its true. I scrapped my car with everything.

One tow truck came with just the frame of the car

no doors, no seats, no steering wheel etc

and the engine block with no pistons.

They just need the frame cos the small plate

with the chassis no is on it and the engine block

cos the plate with the engine no is on it. They just

read and tally. So the car has no glass, no plastic,

no rubber, no wire, really just the frame and engine

block.

If people wanted to know which car is good should ask

the guys that take the car apart. I saw an engine block

that was really clean cos it was a new car keena accident.

I would have like to see how clean is my engine inside

after using cheap oil but always going for regular service.

True, better take out everything and leave only the essential things that the scrapyard needs. I always think scrapyard take in your car for scrap, and pay as little as $100 but there are so many functional things inside the car that they can take out and see/recycle which are more than $100. Lol.

Yup for broken lights, bumpers, glass, doors etc better to go scrap yard

than pay for original to repair at dealers.

My car only 50k km scrap and oil change every 5k so the whole

car and engine all like new.

Piggy back on a flatbed lorry.

The scrap yard will unload it using

a forklift.

I just deregistered my old car at LTA, then left it at my regular workshop for him to strip for parts and then tow to scrap for me.

Win-win for everybody. He threw in a free servicing for my replacement ride as well (BYO oil and filter) and an ice-cold beer!

Do u need to personally go down to LTA to dereg? Cos the LTA letter I got says its "auto-deregistration on......".

And in your case, is there a time frame after de-reg where your regular workshop has to scrap it? Else cannot can back the PARF
