dunno how they fight though :-)

the feeling is probably mutual [laugh]

fight they did and we got to hear some of their encounters including watching their mates dying right before their eyes... [:(]

don't be fooled . . . . .

Western power observation of China's military in 2013:

“We witnessed the massive amphibious and cross military region enterprise — Mission Action 2013,”

“[We] concluded that the PLA has been given the new task to be able to conduct a short sharp war to destroy Japanese forces in the East China Sea following with what can only be expected a seizure of the Senkakus or even a southern Ryukyu [islands]

New task leh. Means this is a target they are aiming at.

Taiwan doesn't want to be gulped up . . . so easily.

So, embarking on making their own sub.

http://www.etaiwannews.com/etn/news_content.php?id=2587625

Williamsburg, Virginia Oct. 6 (CNA) After waiting in vain to purchase submarines from the U.S., Taiwan has begun preparing to build vessels on its own,

Taiwan's Deputy Defense Minister Chiu Kuo-cheng said here Monday. Chiu, who led a Taipei delegation to the U.S.-Taiwan Defense Industry Conference 2014, said that in addition to acquiring submarines from abroad, Taiwan is aggressively developing defensive weapons on its own and was preparing to build its own submarines.

The deputy minister also urged Washington to continue providing Taiwan with the technology and weapons it needs to defend itself, especially advance fighter jets and diesel-electric submarines.

The matter is extremely urgent, Chiu said, because of China's aggressive military build-up in the air and at sea, he said, noting that China's first aircraft carrier, the Liaoning, has completed its first round of sea training, and its missile forces have improved the mobility and accuracy of their tactical missiles.

US is also planning to sell F414 engines to Taiwan which is use on their FA-18 Hornet.

this will upgrade their IDF aka FCK-1 fighters to match China's fighters.

how you explain the US Afgan and Iraq campaign when the US forces had technological superiority against AK47s, RPG7s

They're probably complacent?

In modern warfare, this method can be fatal coz the 人海 may will become easy targets for rapid, wide spread fire power, the enemies may not even have to use hi tech precision weapons :-( The bravery becomes ineffective and has no chance to cause damage to the enemies because it ends before it can start. Unless, the number is so great it can exhaust the ammunitions of the enemies.

of cos you don't use this method right from the start first lah.

exhausted your enemy firepower first before sending in the crazy ivans.

In fact, China still use 狼群战术 in their war doctrine. Quantity still have some edge over quality.

Any conclusion that OUR army can win a war?:)

We have paper generals and paper flying aces.

So we have a paper army and YES, we can win any war, on paper. that is.

You are quite right!! Maybe in air combats, China will first send hundreds of old-tech Mig 25s (just like packs of wolves) to tire out the enemy's more advanced planes, these Mig 25s (or is it 27?) will be sacrificed but China has lots of them, losing 100 of them is no big deal. [:)]

Rather than watching those MCPs in Uniform, I prefer Yingluck.... I miss Yingluck..... she look so lucky lucky.......

Another country military that is inadequate must be Thailand. Their army has never gone to any combat or war.

They are only deployed to suppress their own people and to stage military coup.

But surely losing the 100 pilots are a big deal right? [grin]

Precisely!! [thumbsup] [thumbsup]

In fact apparently at one point RSAF many years back had the same thought: use the aging A4 Skyhawds to wear the enemy air force down in the initial phase of battle!

what China has a lot are the J-7 aka Mig 21. these are going to be replaced by their J-10 and J-11.

some of the J-7 will be converted to UAV as "live bait" to lure out enemy's stealth fighters or radar installation.

their more advanced fighters or bombers will then deal with them.

China is also equipping themselves with longer range missiles that can reach US bases all over Japan.

This will force US to redeploy their strategic assets all the way back to Guam.

OT abit:---- the aviation industry (in this case, military aviation) in USA is big money business, air defense spending is actually keeping this industry and the workers alive and well 'looked after" through the profits made serving the air force. In communist China, where do the big profits go to?

if I am not wrong, China import more weapons than they export.

I don't think selling weapons is China's main source of income.
