It's very low risk - anytime want to sell or scrap, can get back pro rated COE value.

And in this instance where the owner is a slave to his car, it's a safe bet.

why dont scrap it?

My mech say they don't earn much from normal repairs or servicing... what they earn is when people modify their cars and there are less and less people modifying cars

Special repairs are also from damaging cars that are not damaged contribute to their kpi

E.g. jerking the car to cause transmission failure

Have a Kia picanto for sale here.

Engine oil is leaking, have to top up with fresh oil every 2 3 months. On board “time clock” is faulty keep resetting itself to 1pm.

Current paper value is about 18K due to COE renewal earlier.

Mileage ; 65k

Tyres still good to go with 13 inch rims. Interested parties do PM me, not in a rush to sell

Camry 2.0 silver coe due 16Jan 2019, mileage only 90500

Min parf $12759 , scrap at least can get $1500, I am selling cos thought of changing car, else I will renew coe if coe continues to fall

By the way I just changed both fan and aircon motor + alternator, engine mountings changed a few months ago, battery also less than 6months. Front dashboard is new about a year only as the previous one melting just like many old Camry units.

I hv the intention to renew coe since low mileagw and cars were very ex then, now looking at selling if can get $16-17k

That means buyer will pay only $2k to drive for 4month

Note: I am doing multiple postings to answer to queries I received on the car as I think those interested may have the same to clarify

To u is 2k for 4mths ride however To me is not because i dont factor in body price unless ur body is v HIgH which is > market price

Lastly,

1) we buy to drive, not to scrap.......

2) nobody can predict what is body price in 4mth down e road.

Just like when u buy a car, Did e dealer add e body price on top of ur purchase price?
