The Maybach is back...

Haha I look at the S class as a car for the Lao Ban to drive, the Mayback will be a car for a Lao Ban to be driven in. Seems Merc is pushing out the Mayback like a upgraded S class with varying engine sizes.

I share the same sentiment though, if the Mayback looks like a slightly larger S class it will be much more prestigious to get a rolls. (prestigious seems to be what the consumer wants)

One of few Maybach's here is owned by Mr Quek so confirm can afford all :D I cannot afford one so sour grapes [bigcry]

even Mr Quek, it seems, cannot tahan the old Maybach and changed to a RR...

The S600 Maybach will cost at least 1m w/o COE, estimated based on UK and US prices.

FYI the Ghost cost 1.4m without options and COE

if Pullman costs 1mil without COE i think still reasonable. if normal Maybach also 1mil then there's really very little case for it. the differentiation factor from normal S-class is too thin. might as well buy a flying spur.

2018 Mercedes-Maybach Pullman debuts with 630 PS

https://paultan.org/2018/03/19/mercedes-maybach-pullman-s650-facelift-debuts/#

Mercedes-Maybach-Pullman-FL-1-850x299.jp

It’s time now for the Mercedes-Maybach Pullman to get its facelift, after the Maybach and regular S-Class models received theirs. Apart from an updated design, the VV222 also gets an updated equipment list and powertrain.

On the exterior, there’s now a new front grille that is similar to that found on the Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 concepts. There’s also a set of 20-inch wheels in a 10-hole design, while the colour palette now includes new two-tone paint finishes.

As before, the Pullman measures 6.5 metres long and has a wheelbase of 4,418 mm, which is 1,053 mm longer than the X222 Maybach S-Class. Customers will also get new colours for the interior, including magma grey, mahogany brown and silk beige/deep sea blue.

All the creature comforts of the Pullman are retained here, but there’s now a front view camera so rear passengers are able to monitor the traffic in front the limousine even when the partition screen is closed. Additionally, the sound system now comes with a “two cabin sound” feature, allowing for independent music control.

The S 600 moniker of the pre-facelift model is now gone, and the new Pullman is now identified as the S 650. A 6.0 litre twin-turbo V12 continues to be of service in the S 650, but now has a higher output of 621 hp (630 PS) and 1,000 Nm of torque – the previous S 600 “only” had 523 hp (530 PS) and 830 Nm. Despite its size, the Pullman will complete the 0-100 km/h sprint in just 6.5 seconds.

If you’re interested, the new Pullman is priced from around half a million euro (about RM2.4 million). Mercedes-Maybach will likely give the Pullman Guard, an armoured version of the limousine, a similar update in the future. That one may cost quite a bit more.

Mercedes-Maybach Vision Ultimate Luxury concept combines SUV with limousine

Is it a high-riding limousine or a luxury SUV with a boot, or both? Will this left-field crossover limousine reach production? If it does, would anyone buy it?

These are just some of the questions that might rightly be asked when the Mercedes-Maybach Vision Ultimate Luxury concept car makes its world debut at the Beijing motor show next week.

Until then, we can only be sure of one thing: that Mercedes-Maybach’s next show car won’t simply be a more luxurious version of Mercedes-Benz’s next GLS-Class uber-SUV.

Pictured here for the first time following a short teaser campaign, the polarising German crossover apparently broke cover ahead of schedule when a Maybach microsite went live mistakenly before being pulled down a short time later.

But it seems Mercedes wasn’t quick enough, with US website Autoblog.com capturing these images and key details of the mould-breaking sedan on stilts.

According to Autoblog – and unsurprisingly – the Ultimate Luxury show car is all-electric, incorporating a motor for each wheel to generate a total output of 560kW and deliver a top speed of 250km/h.

Its 80kWh battery pack and claimed 320km driving range are less impressive, but the high-riding sedan is said to be rechargeable via wireless inductive technology or via a fast-charge cable, which reportedly provides a 75 per cent charge within five minutes.

Adorning its high-riding body are a number of design cues seen previously on the Mercedes-Maybach Vision 6 coupe and convertible concepts, as well as the ultra-luxury brand’s upgraded S-Class and long-wheelbase Pullman limousines.

They include a massive chromed grille with multiple vertical slats and Maybach lettering, flanked by a pair of narrow headlights – the three LED lighting elements in which are echoed by the tail-lights.

Apart from the raised ride height, the crossover theme is reinforced by front and rear ‘bash-plate’ inserts and the usual lower body-side and wheel-arch mouldings – this time highlighted with chrome.

Inside, the super-luxury four-seat crossover is lined with pristine white leather, blue mood lighting, part-gold seat backs, half a forest worth of woodgrain trim in the doors and a massive full-length centre console housing – naturally – a tea set.

I wonder where to boil water for that pot of tea in the car unless there is a tap and boiler.

Eat plain rice? Unless there is a fridge to store chilled meat also a tap to wash up after eating.

and a wash room for emergency, Basin to wash the cups.
