Seeing how all ah tiong kids overseas spend money feel just so 恶心. And that already is an understatement but I do not have a more powerful vocab to describe it.

The way they want to flaunt their wealth makes me want to vomit.

Yeah right

Go do your sums again. this time factor in 40% income tax from the day you start working in addition to all other spending.

Now see if you can still afford that 200k car so easily

None of the ah tiong students there earn money in US. All the money from "somewhere" else

hmm, our tax is about 12.5% so the difference is 27.5%?
based on the depreciation lost in car ... probably not far off from paying the additional 27.5%
if we are talking about middle class salary <= $120K per annum ... paying for car is > paying for additional 27.5% tax?
direct tax vs indirect tax ... this has been debate till cows come home
however, i do agree that indirect tax is better since not everyone buy car or change car every 3-5 years :)

Of course. You don't see normal working Americans driving these cars right?

You will hardly find Americans earning 200k per annum driving 100k cars

Easy to say when you are not over there

This is called: "my money is my money, daddy's money is my money". The difference is: it is very easy to spend money I don't earn. :)

The real big time earner will be very discreet on spending his/her money which is applicable to all in the free country of not their own.
