big CC is now passe... lets see who can make the biggest car with the smallest cc...

I thought the new E180 is powered by a 1.5l TC engine producing the equivalent of a 1.8l drivetrain? It is still a less powerful car in this case. Is this naming convention valid for MB?

Damn cock up. Bring in E180 Must pay 10k for C1 VES. And then need to strip down it further to make a price difference from E200 Substantial enough ......wait....

I’m the dumb one here. Just jack up the price of E200 and E300 even more and probably still can sell... done. 😀

omv will probably be much lower than the e200 to cover the lower selling price

Naming convention is a mess across other brands as well

https://www.sgcarmart.com/new_cars/newcars_listing.php?MOD=BMW

BMW 3 series, 320/330 is 2L , 340 is 3L

BMW 5 series 520/530 is 2L, 540 is 3L

BMW X2 sDrive18 M sport is 1.5Litre, 20i is 2L

Just spoke with my sales from C&C

Almost similar technical spec like C180  at hp-power 156

Selling Price 229888

Less first 50 cars - $5000

High over trade now above 20k

So all in Mambo Jumbo , is effective price around $192k

Same output as the c180 but is actually a diff engine. The c180 is using old Renault engine which is 1.6litre. The new e180 is using the same engine as the c160 but with more power.

Yeah. In fact there is a version of e200 using the same engine as the c200 in some overseas market.

Yes, it is confusing.

I was told BMW's naming convention is based on power output, the two digits after the model name is an indication of the “feel” of the drivetrain.  3.0 ‘feels’ like a 3-litre engine. 40 in X5 feels like a 4-litre engine.

i thought MB is also keeping to that convention although it is really easy to inflate those numbers these days since they are no longer based on actual engine displacement.

$192k for 1.5L TC E180.  That's shockingly "cheap"

If I remember correctly, c160 was selling for $160k thereabouts at motorshow so can't really say this e180 is a steal right?

Both the C-Class and E-Class are using Mercedes in-house engines M264 and Mercedes Gearbox 9G-Tronic. Where did you get the info from that it is renault? What's your source?

FYI

C160 - M264 Single Scroll Turbo 1.5L w/ 9G-TRONIC

E180 - M264 Twin Scroll Turbo 1.5L w/ 9G-TRONIC
