Thanks Furrynadz

GC4P is under my shortlist for a MPV and Kuga if I am going for SUV.

Hopefully Ford is better built than Pug and lesser chance of going back for AD support.

Will try out the new Tucson and see what are my options available.

the new c4gp is still a bit plagued by electronics

so far common problem is still the usual ecu/depol faults, and with the new lcd screen...its lcd screen failure lol

ford parts are quite ex

consider other alternatives besides these 2

How about car and AD for Renault?

renault is one most problematic french car

parts totally dont last

stuff like coils/crankshaft pulley/sensor..

prepare every 20k/yearly do..

and whoever design their engine should be shot

their oil filters are always hard to access and placed above hoses/sensor/alternator..etc which cause dmg if u dont remove properly

google for diagrams

That means French only Cit can buy?

I see a lot of Picasso(s) around these days.

all can buy

just how big ur risk appetite and how deep ur wallet is and how much leave/off u have

time/money/knowledge and patience

u need 2 of the above at least

I went thru many survey website , 9 out of 10 are very very satisfied with 308 reliability. Oh yes, all those surveys return are from the west.

As for the east, 9 out of 10 had poor reliability feedback.

Two possibility 1) not customised to east climate even after thousands of years of experience - which is still likely knowing the French 2) east people are more sharp ...and know our human right better than the west. :)

Turbocharged

This car is on my list for cheaper functional options... but then the worrisome reliability stories and AutoFrance being bad at solving issues...

Dunno whether good idea or not! Even if only for few years!

Beware the AD for Peugeot... they really can be clueless troubleshooting. Everything 'we will contact France.' Worse, the only service guy I trusted left them and set up shop outside.

Not ever buying this brand again. (Had the 3008 petrol).

I must say that the new Pugs do sound very tempting. A brand new 1.2 turbo motor and a nice package in the 308SW.

Then I look back at my experience with the 3008 and the numerous visits to workshop and the attraction fades quickly.

The 3008 had the PSA-BMW/Mini Prince engine which also won several engine of the year awards. But this engine eventually was found to have reliability issues. Will the new engine be better?... I don't know and I don't dare to try.

Pugs have poor resale value so need to factor that in too. I changed car because I didn't have faith it would last me 10 years. My sis in law still has a 9 yr old 407 (which had quite a few issues too) but she loves it.
