Lousy reunion dinner

Reunion dinner outside is always like that one la. Their standard always drop during this period. Plus they also rushing the people to finish their food.

Eating pizza is indeed unique for reunion dinner.

That was a family lunch on 30th; kids wanted it but I'm ok as long as they're happy.

have never eat out for quite a number of years and this year decided to do so in a restaurant at Boon Keng.

 

seriously, i went tothe near by mac to buy a fillet o fish to chill myself after the whole course. For something that cost 450 bucks, it is so lousy that i would have chosen to trade the whole course for a plate of 炒粿条。

 

seriously i kid you not. Ok, rant over....time to go toilet and let the asssssss do the rest and forget about it.

Next time just go to a proper restaurant. You'll be surprised it may cost the same. I had mine (lunch) at Wah Lok and it costs less than yours 😂

To add injury to insult, dessert was all poured from a can of pineapples and longan....

To be fair, most restuarant doing this mass reunion dinner have the same problem. Mass produce, pre-cooked. We had our reunion dinner outside for a few years at a few diff restuarants, all got the same problem. Still searching for one that can do one as good as their normal days standard.

As we are busy at work and in life, it is very seldom that we sit down together and have reunion meal together with parents, siblings, etc :))

Lol, never like the idea of eating reunion dinner outside on the actual day. Always believe no matter which restaurant you go also same standard, due to huge number of crowds. Better to eat at home, even just a simple dishes.

Book or eat out earlier before eve

 

Last minute one eat fast food or other non chinese restaurant

I always take the 'contrarian' way. Festive seasons should take plain teochew porriage with some simple braised dishes after eating too much 'overfat' foods.

This is clear effect of the much talk abt hollowing out. PRC chef go home for CNY, no local knows how to cook. So the taste all goes haywire. Prepare to see more pinoy part timer whipping up chinese dishes and pinoy lion dance troops.

I think lion dance hard to see pinoys taking over. Cause most of them are lao bengs and xiao bengs. SG won't run out of them.

I agree. Last time my family extremely small. My mum insisted on simple dishes at home (on some years, even steamboat with a few dishes and few of us) and it was priceless.

 

Better than any restaurant.
