This was already released easily more than a month ago and got quite a few youtube videos deicated to this topic. Essentially MM2H is a long term repeat visit visa that allow holders to stay in Malaysia for upto 10 years with no limit on number of trips back home. It does not lead to even becoming a PR so the purpose is different. Many holders  I read are using it to allow their kids to study here. The schme has been stopped due to covid and supposed to resume this October but with a much higher bar and lasting only 5 years with min 90 stay requirements. The China people holding the visas now are very pissed by the news and commented that those can earn RM40,000 would not even set their eyes on Malaysia haha. They expecting a u-turn from their experience dealing with Malaysia gov.

normal business in malaysia la. everything is always fluid.

for Singaporeans dun have to get this MM2H ba…..just come back a day or two after 30 days of stay in Msia lor….just to see kids or eat your fav food...[laugh]

There are certain benefits that come with the scheme, despite some being withdrawn. Some first gen holders commented that they allowed to buy cars tax-free, enroll their kids in local school, etc, etc but subsequently no more.

The best joke was the part that according to some insider leak, on the day of press release, the minister was there thinking just to hold discussion with other officials but surprised to be greeted by a huge pool of reporters to give official release! And that everything released are not cast in stone yet as not yet approved by cabinet as required by law as no meetings held to approve it. That is why now everyone think u-turn is going to happen come 1st Oct. Really a joke lah.

When I got married I promise my wife I will never put her mother in an old folks home in JB and stay in SG and never go in and visit her.

That's why I want to put her in an old folks home in SG and stay in JB and never come in and visit her.

That's why I keep thinking about going JB to live.

So many nice food there and KTV and massage places and all pay in RM.

:D

At least Malaysia has finally realized it is pointless to have low foreign SES in there country who would "steal their jobs" and forcing their locals to work in the GIG industry or be maids to them. Smart.

Please lah. See ask you to subscribe to ST don't want.

Employment/Business Investment Rules for MM2Hers

MM2H visa holders aged 50 years old and above can work for up to 20 hours a week. This is applicable to visa holders who have specialised skills in certain approved sectors. We are advised the decision on whether to approve part time work is based on the approving committee view on whether a Malaysian could do the job.MM2Hers are permitted to set up and invest in businesses in Malaysia. They will be subject to the same regulations as other foreign investors but will not be permitted to become actively involved in the day to day running of the business. If they wish to do this they must switch their visa to a work permit.

a. buy up houses and condos .... red eye that many MM2H stay in atas houses and condos

b. cause inflation and material cost goes up

c. take advantage of msia resources

d. pump cheap petrol (this one is targeted to sinkie 😉 )

like everyone go msia only take advantage but never contribute money to msia ... lol

Actually, this is part of Agile.  You release a bit first, gauge stakeholders/customers reaction, and if no good, then can just quickly re-do in the next "sprint".

They are at the forefront of the Agile methodologies. Watch and learn! [laugh]

MALAYSIA could see a modest increase in its benchmark interest rate next year as the country’s economic outlook improves.

According to CGS-CIMB Research, Bank Negara would likely increase the OPR by up to 75 bps to 2.50% by the end of next year, as the country’s economic outlook improves.

I think initially the Authorities on both sides should just allow only workers and people with business interests on both sides to travel and of course to make concessions for those people with Urgent travel needs to do so for loved ones  (not those makan angin types) a special permit to be issued by both embassies accordingly, charge a small fee (as usual $$ making)...... make it a pilot project (of course doing the usual PCR test's too as like Air travel)
