Depreciation of Audi A8

Was looking around at some Audi used cars

http://www.sgcarmart.com/used_cars/listing.php?MOD=audi&PRC=0&RGD=2009&TRN=0&VEH=0&AVL=2

And I was shocked at an A8 depreciation less than A4 depreciation

A4 1.8T depre $16k - http://www.sgcarmart.com/used_cars/info.php?ID=458774&DL=2420

A8 3.2V6 depre $15k - http://www.sgcarmart.com/used_cars/info.php?ID=449600&DL=2210

Then I went and look at other 2008-2009 A8 models, mostly also depre $15k only. Had sat in A8 before, the back legroom is amazing, lean back kiao kar already still can barely reach the front seat. At a time when even used Altis smelly smelly $12k depreciation, A8 at depre $15k is [crazy] . A new A8 depre is close to $40k depre. Other than road tax which is twice of a 2L car, what else am I missing?

1 single repair to audi A4 or even VW Jetta [lipsrsealed] will also cost just as much as an A8 mah. But of cos servicing, oil change all this will costs more than a usual 1.8L.

If a person now driving a Audi A4, actually it will not add much annually to drive A8. Of cos if currently driving Camry then the maintenance costs will be whole world of difference.

personally... i juz feel obligated to warn a fellow bro in MCF.. i bot a car from that dealer before...

it was cheaper by abit compared to same models else where... but..... car turned out to be a lemon...

in 10mths ownership... power window gear broke, coolant tank burst, air con leaked... additional 8~10k gone

of cus.. it could be a one off... but just be careful ... make sure your mech checks that car thoroughly...

1 single repair could easily add 1 to 2k to your low annual depreciation bro. Lppl.

bro, sure or not?

if car left 5 years, 5*2k = 10k.

u sure a 10k repair on a8 is normally expected?

8-10k for these repairs sounds excessive. you fixed with premium auto?

maybe because it is an audi??

audi shares parts with vw and skoda ......

there are many affordable workshops specialising in repairs of cars with these badges......

so far I hear from friends who patronise them the charges are very reasonable.

I guess the audi ad charges high for their labour and high markup for the parts.

but I relook the posts I think superbored was complaining about his beemer not audi.?

Never do things like "engine flush".

It's a scam.
