I'm also waiting for my Spada, ETD hopefully in Nov. Welcome Kenny to the club! Nightjar, have you tried driving off before sliding door closes properly? There will be a message in Japanese :P Btw I give up controlling my right foot already...see how's the consumption lar... My Freed also had this message, it was in Mandarin. I guess they though SG was a place in China...:P But after I changed the car alarm system, the message was not able to activate anymore. Seems the installer screwed up....so take care. ↡ Advertisement

There will be a message in Japanese :P Btw I give up controlling my right foot already...see how's the consumption lar... Stepwgn2015, I have not tried this stunt yet. Is it an audio warning or some words flashing on the instrument penal? i still don't understand what meanings are some of the indicators in this van. Do you notice the colour of the instrument panel backlight can change by itself from blue to maroon? When I first collected the car, the backlight was blue colour. After a few days of driving I noticed it had turned to maroon and stayed in this colour up till now. Is it an indication on the state of the battery (high/low charge)? Since you are not controlling your right foot now, would you try shifting the gear lever down from "D" to "S" and see what is the difference? In other CVT cars that I have driven I never noticed there was a "S" shifting for the gear.

Red = bad, Blue = neutral, green = good. So when u accelerate, it will turn red. When cruising, it will go green. Hope that helps

Nightjar 1st Gear October 3, 2015 Share October 3, 2015 Thanks Kenny! Very useful information. Kenny, one more thing.... While the two light strips sandwiching the speedo digital reading change colour between green, red and momentarily a very light yellow tone according to the energy consumption, the two back light at the extreme corners of the instrument panel remained red all the time. When I first collected the car this corner backlight was blue colour, and only switched to red after 4 or 5 days of driving. Does it mean my battery charging is low and the battery has not come back to the normal level, or that the fuel consumption is bad? My average fc is now 13kmpl. HI Nightjar, Have you tried downloading the Japanese Manual from the Japanese Honda Website? http://www.honda.co.jp/ownersmanual/HondaMotor/auto/?m=stepwgnspada&y=2015 After doing so, UNLOCK the document (http://smallpdf.com/unlock-pdf). Then go to Google Translate and copy/ paste the Jap words from the manual and you get it to be translated into English. You may only open the unlocked PDF file in Chrome to be able to copy & paste. If you open the saved file and open it with a normal PDF Reader, some how it still does not allow you to copy. I tried to paste the unlocked document but its too big to do so. All our questions should be able to be answered, except its a little tedious (you know what I mean...copy & pasting) Edited October 3, 2015 by Vinljp

bb1314 1st Gear October 3, 2015 Share October 3, 2015 interesting... I read from somewhere can customize the meter color for the cool spirit with multi information display. Didnt realize Spada can change color too. Tried reading the manual but cannot understand. See the highlighted part. the translation is: Step WGN Spada Violet → pink → Red → Amber → yellow → blue → return to the Violet I believe the one Kenny mentioned is the left hand side about green, orange, purple. Under what circumstances it will change the violet--pink--red-- etc?

Wildaltum 1st Gear October 3, 2015 Share October 3, 2015 Hi Nigthjar, for the 'S' gear, it is more like "sports" meaning the gear will hold and you will be able to speed up faster. I had this on my Toyota Sienta and my current Toyota Noah. It is good to use when I drive to Malaysia and you are going uphill with full load, you will see your car picking up speed and overtaking a lot of cars. It is good to use it when you go up Genting. One way to test this "S" is Benjamin Sheares Bridge, try it and you will see your car speeding away when you are carrying full load. Is there a "B"? "B " is like engine braking, can use it if you are going downhill like Genting. Seldom used.

KennyHWK Clutched October 3, 2015 Share October 3, 2015 Hi guys I have started a closed group in facebook named "Honda Stepwgn SG". My intention is to create a platform for Stepwgn owners and owners-to-be to be able to share Stepwgn pointers and experiences on the go. I find it much easier to snap and post a pic in facebook as compared to the forum here. It is a closed group, so only members can see each others' posts. Pls feel free to join if you are a Stepwgn owner / owner-to-be

Nightjar 1st Gear October 3, 2015 Share October 3, 2015 Oh... So we can actually customize the color by pressing select/reset button? Think i need to follow the manual and explore on this. Initially I had repeatedly pressed the select/reset button in an attempt to change the colour but to no avail. ↡ Advertisement
