Neutral Newbie

Need help. have an accident with a Malaysia car in Singapore. 100% the other party fault with video supporting and police report (action taken against the other party for inconsiderate driving - though not sure what action the TP can actually take against them).

As it is Malaysian car, I have no choice but to claim my own insurance first and wait for them to claim from the MAlaysia insurer. However, the issue is with the excess amount (3k). Is my insurance company obliged to claim on behalf of me the excess amount also? The insurance company told me that they can assist me to forward my uninsured losses claims against the third party insurer through their Malaysia lawyer, subject to my agreement on the legal fee incurred in due course. Their lawyer normally charge 15% from the recovered sum plus any reimbursement fee incurred.

Shldnt the legal fees be borne by the insurance company? it seems that they are forcing me to bear it instead?

its very obvious, isn't it?

your insurance actuall F$%^& you up!

they will lock you with an unclaimed case for year(s)

this will raise your premium by default even though its not your fault

untill the other party/lawyer/insurance finally agree is their insuree's fault with no prejudice, else you are locked in this case!

15% from recovered sum...... provided the sum can be recovered!

good luck

Based on GIA, if it is assessed that the accident is not my fault, ncd not affected. so if this is the case, is there an issue on changing insurance company after the year?

Malaysian cars & bike can come here do wharever they want...knowingly little can be done to them. Our authorities allow them to do this.

These vehicles can alao come over with modified stuff that we are not allowed to do. They give noise and air pollution. Again our authorities allow this.

More of these reckless drivers and drivers will come...commit whatever and need not pay...we citizens just suck thumb.

But he got a point... I seriously think we should stop all malaysia car from coming over... At the same time stop Singapore car from going over.... After all Singapore driver like to break law over there... And they like to break law over here. Edited by Joseph22
