The Audi A3 seems to be having brisk sales with its $106,999 promo.

Is the 1 litre engine in the Hungary built A3 similar to that found in the cheaper VW Polo & Seat Leon  ?

You are right - identical engines  [laugh]

But it's a disappointment that there isn't even an Audi logo on the A3 engine cover, despite buyers paying a hefty premium for the Audi brand, ie. $26,000 premium over the Seat Ibiza.

The magic of manufacturing, cutting out a single process to save costs, and increase profit margins.

That logo has to be ordered from taobao shipped to Germany then come to singapore. Would add to the OMV and affect PA's profit margin u know?

The image shows the engine for my A3 collected last month.

Btw, has anyone tried to accelerate without releasing the parking break? I tried to accelerate without releasing the parking break and heard a "clink" sound, the car moved a little but I stopped and went down to check cause i thought I brushed again something. I was in the MSCP so the sound was quite obvious. I know that the parking break will be auto release if you accelerate but didn't expect to hear a sound.

My car no unusual sound when I move off without releasing the parking brake. Edited by Zack2222

Out of my budget sir. Was attracted to the 3’s pricing. Just very wary of the VW DSG 7 sp after a harrowing experience that’s all.

Had a Friend who was driving the A7, had to wait for a few months for a spare part.

Guys, anyone had installed 'hill hold assist' in your A3? Worth the extra bucks to have this function?

Not bad, can relax your feet when at traffic lights.

Thanks for the info man. Btw will the car roll back when stationary on up slope (example Taka carpark) when you leave your foot off the brake pedal?

It will not roll back once it is activated.
