I just enjoy revving up the engine a bit on the highway, let the turbo run a bit ... I've always felt a good run with some revs is a healthy thing for any car...

 

ya i agree but sadly, my daily drive is morning and evening rush hour, hardly got chance to rev it

I read that canât clear carbon by accelerating hard on direct injection engines, not sure how accurate is that..

 

Yeah 1.0. Driven up before, I recall the engine gets nosier above 150kmh

It's more important for direct injection engines to rev hard cos of carbon build up. Else, do walnut blast at 60k or so. A few bmw workshops here do it

Primarily on your wallet, and downtime. The newer 1.4 and 1.0 have their manifolds pointing away from the windscreen which should make access much easier.

Usually happens at low revs, going over hump or slowing down to make a slow turn.

 

Hear on phone clearer. Hope someone can advise me here. A bit worried.

the video is informative. for local context, quite a few bmw guys do walnut blast. about $4-500. thing is not many wkshops do injector cleaning. so a change cost 500 each injector.
