Machunk28 4th Gear October 9, 2017 Share October 9, 2017 Can you confirm it is the Wet Clutch 7 speed. If it is, then the market for this is much more acceptable. The fear has always been the weak point which is the Dry clutch / MU I also notice it comes with drive select. Just not sure if it comes with Magnetic / DCC ride as well. SE mentioned is still 7 speed dry clutch... No Magnetic/DCC ride... Can you confirm it is the Wet Clutch 7 speed. If it is, then the market for this is much more acceptable. Popeye76 Neutral Newbie October 14, 2017 Share October 14, 2017 Hi Guys, Any recommendation on where to install IROAD on my ride and what's the cost?
Gohsoonk Neutral Newbie October 15, 2017 Share October 15, 2017 Audi Prices are more stable .. It only moved between 123999 (coe around 50K) to where it is now 119999 (coe at 41K) For most Premium brands, you only see fraction of reduction which is again the Premium you are paying a little less on CoE drops... Look at your need and the Resale value in case if u need to sell... Dun put too much hope on resale value. All car dealers are blood suckers unless you sell direct. Just make sure you get the best deal when buying and not rely on selling. SE mentioned is still 7 speed dry clutch... No Magnetic/DCC ride... SE mentioned is still 7 speed dry clutch... No Magnetic/DCC ride... Has been dry clutch since day 1
Gohsoonk Neutral Newbie October 15, 2017 Share October 15, 2017 Aiyoooo this is like saying scrawny folks have no strength to lift weights.... Which is not the case. Actually no point talking about power as Audi keeps downgrading the engine. The strength of Audi is design. You never get sick of the interior design even after 3.5 years as every subtle detail is thought of. It is like owning an IPhone.
Victor68 Turbocharged October 15, 2017 Share October 15, 2017 in my opinion, the design and features are above most in this price range. badge also cannot complain. so it is down to just reliability and maintenance that will decide if it is a good buy. I am also sure dry clutch are sold in hundred of thousands running on the road world wide for many years. if cannot, long gone but the question should be higher cost to maintain. therock Supersonic October 15, 2017 Share October 15, 2017 Those who love the car, will continue to find good reasons to own it and enjoy it. Those who need to vacillate on the build, GB, reliability, cost of running etc, will ultimately go elsewhere. And that's how the cookie crumbles. Looking at the annual figures, there are plenty of folks in the former group to keep Audi happy. As always, YMMV.
Gohsoonk Neutral Newbie October 15, 2017 Share October 15, 2017 I'm not with u on this. I think Audi's current gen interior and exterior is boring. They have stuck to the winning formula for the exterior for far too long. That is why their cars are like S, M, L and XL. Might be boring to some extent. The interior is neat. Minimalist. Their social events are associated with design and their ambassadors are also linked with the design industry. Owing an Audi is like a fashion statement like a Cooper. Victor68 Turbocharged October 16, 2017 Share October 16, 2017 Higher cost to maintain compare to? The badge says alot and the number of 3rd party workshops will be limited. the other is the argument that dry clutch requires more maintenance. I am comparing with cars within the $120k range. I am comparing with cars within the $120k range. I doubt so. Probably only for the 3 cylinder engine which is new. The VAG , Vw Audi Group has quite a fair bit of experts in SG. Parts wise is quite easily accessible due to the Platform creation of MQB like A3 which is cross sharing with VW and SEAT. I would even go so far as to say that you get a better choice of upgraded parts when the old parts fail by swapping out a Audi S parts bins replacement. Dry clutch wise is still the Achilles heels of the car. And hence IF its a wet clutch, will sell well.

I am comparing with cars within the $120k range. there r many audi workshops as it's parts sharing with vw. dry clutch requires more maintenance but it's a cheaper part than wet clutch. for the same car with wet clutch, expect to pay a higher price. so it doesn't really have much of a benefit other than maybe smoother shifts. but the dual clutch is generally a pretty smooth shifting unit by itself. Previous Ferrari Alfa owners used the single dry clutch which was more challenging but also more engaging. So it's probably ok to have the dual dry one. I doubt so.
