Suddenly all supermarkets can now give promo. 🤨

Can't help but think the reasons given for these price hike earlier were all BS. Inflation and fuel, yes, by so much? The MY fuel is still subsidised right? Ukraine war? We stopped flying eggs from that region right?

Even the chicken flu, I recall last time also didn't cause the price to spike so much.

Precisely!
So, in actual fact, the supermarkets were all capable of selling the eggs for a cheaper price. It only took Fairprice to get the ball rolling.
It's all about profiteering.

I'm not saying that the suppliers and supermarket aren't making a healthy margin.

But animal feed cost i think has went up significantly. Even fertiliser cost has went up. So all veggies and animal products cost went up.

For example. Corn prices is about almost 90% higher than 2020.

If u eat raw eggs like the japanese do with their tamago kake gohan, then u can invest in better eggs for food safety.
But generally not that safe to do it in Singapore.

Eggs are good for cholesterol? Thought eggs are bad for cholesterol? Esp if people with cholesterol issue cannot eat too much eggs?
