PPS is a must for white colour.

Car is less dirty after driving in the rain and is more easy to wash.

PPS is extra budget :)

My car gets dirty if don't dry asap after the rain.

Parked outside in open area, the dust generated by passing vehicles is the 'headache' hehehe

For me, Initial 3 years, wash, clay + wax every weekend, then slow down liao.. to maybe once a month

No PPS ever done on all my cars (all white). White is color that doesn't show dirt easily... as compared to black or dark color cars.

[thumbsup]

I only intend to wash once every week. (15 min max) :)

Only when near, you are see the 'dirt' of the car.

$ charged for each individual servicing session if pay per session - see pg 2 of http://www.subaru.asia/sg/en/owners/aftersales/media/service_packages/service_maintenance.pdf

$ charged if you buy 2yr/40,000km whichever-come-first bundle which can cater for 4 to 5 servicing sessions? - see pg 2 of http://www.subaru.asia/sg/en/owners/aftersales/media/service_packages/preventive_service.pdf

In case above links get outdated, the most up-to-date prices should be able to find here http://www.subaru.asia/sg/en/owners/aftersales/?pg=packages

Remember to use your DUO points to help pay for part of the servicing - otherwise, you waste the points when they expire. Should be able to get more than $200 worth of servicing voucher https://www.duo.com.sg/car-servicing.aspx

@jg2000, thank you for the info bro !

Legacy and Outback are named. Is Forester affected?

more info.. looks like Forester not impacted.

http://bizbeatblog.dallasnews.com/2016/05/subaru-warns-legacy-outback-owners-not-to-drive-them-because-of-steering-failure-risk.html/

Suspect only affect US-made Legacy and Outback. Hopefully not affect Japan made ones that come to Singapore.

eh.. I tot all subarus made in Japan?

Just for fun: any bro/sis here with a white forester...how do you wash/maintain the car? By yourself or petrol kiosks? Frequency?

white cars more troublesome... personally I was my white car every week and find tree stains all over the place... irritating.

Subaru has 3 factories (or 2 and a half) - Japan factory, US factory plus Malaysia which does assembly

ASEAN Subarus other than Singapore come from Malaysian assembly plant that is owned by Motor Image.

Singapore's Subarus come from Japan factory because MI say Singaporeans want their cars to be made in Japan.

US Subaru factory produces some of the US Subarus (e.g. Legacy and Outback).

Subaru also working at full capacity because it has so few factories - whatever they produce is all sold out.

Hi all,

Forester has been well known for its off road and stability performance for many years internationally.  However, it's external styling has never been attractive enough to entice many including ,myself to consider in the past.  Frankly, in Singapore context, little or no off-road usage at all.  So external styling is a big factor to me.  The current face-lift model seems to have improved on the external styling and is pretty good looking for a SUV.

I am looking at changing my  current car to the forester.  Any bros here could share your driving experience on the forester comparing to a saloon car of similar engine capacity, as well as between the current model vs previous older version of the forester if you have owned and driven both.

Thanks.

Hi,

Glad to see another bro here interested in the forester. The forester wasn't in my list initially when I was shopping for an SUV. But after testing out a few comparable models such as forester 2.0, forest Xt, qq1.2t, qq2.0, crv 2.4, cx5 2.0, also sat in tiguan 1.4,.........

I went back to sign the deal for forester Xt right away!

The performance, handling, space, equipment and safety and of course price simply no fight. To me, I don't see any close competitors to the Xt. It simply blew me off. Haa

Don't think so much, just go test drive all of them and u will know wat I mean. Of course different Drivers may have their personal preferences and requirements. So the ultimate choice still depends on the individual.

Even in manual transmission, the FC can't be so much of a diff.

Auto: 9-10km/ltr

MT : 16km/litr?

Almost double the milage/litr.

The Malaysia assembly plant is owned by TCMA(Which is different from TCIL), not MI.

TC Subaru Sdn Bhd(owned by Motor Image International Pte Ltd) have an agreement with TCMA to assemble the cars. TCMA also assemble cars for brands like Nissan, Mitsubishi and Renault.

Not only Singapore, as I believe Philippines's Subarus also from Japan factory.

thanks for sharing!

btw what is the different of 2.0i-L and 2.0i-P ?

MI now only have 2.0i-P and 2.0XT right. tested 2.0i-P last week, I like it! like most member said XT is addictive. So I will test the XT to see, if I need that POWER!!

i think no difference between il and ip. just the naming process in different countries.

My 12.3km/ltr is on based petrol top up to brim and actual distance travelled. The onboard displayed as 8l/100km.

Some owner here claims theirs only average 9km/ltr and 1 or 2 even never achieve above 8km+/ltr. Very contrasting fm yours of 12.3/ltr.

Car with full tank is heavier than say 1/4 tank, so FC should be higher theoriticaly right?

MI specs is 11.8km/L for XT and 12.2km/L for NA.

In actual most car will average about 2km/L less fm specs stated. All my previous cars are the same. So your 12.3km/L achievement is dam good! Its better than most korean make with front wheel drive only.
