Sounds like sj forester ac alot of issues. I just changed my condenser this week. What are the symptoms to know when to change coil and compressor?

My swift sport last time din even need to change anything for the ac for 8 years till the day I sold it.

143,000 km for 5 years is very high mileage in Singapore mah... expected the aircon will die... it's equivalent to a 10 year old car mileage in Singapore... hence all the parts are equivalent to 10 year old... not surprising must change mah...

I changed mine to aftermarket kind as I find no point to use back original or oem if the product fails so early. And I don't find any difference after changing. It's just bushings and or maybe my butt is not as sensitive. Lol.

Hi Strato,

Bks woodlands mine to SH version but at least 2 bros shared that they will go back to stock after dunno what aftermkt ones.

Cheers.

Richard

Neutral Newbie

Hi guys, I have just gotten a 2016 sj fna and feel that the body roll is quite bad. Does the fna come with oem front and rear anti roll bar like the fxt?

Whole day work or need to leave overnight?

Half a day work. L & Kim the Malaysian mechanics really pro and fast.

Good thing my car the cooling coil is located behind the passenger side glove compartment.  They remove glove compartment,  aircon filter section,  aircon fan and some cover behind and able to access the cooling coil.

Don't need to remove the whole dash board.

Hi xrjo,

Have ... and same same.

At least fna is not as hard aka harsh to handle higher power as fxt ... key difference is fna does not even have rear subframe link which some like me replaced with sti flexible subframe that makes it less hard/harsh.

Cheers

Hi Ham,

5 yrs or 100k km whichever comes first is for gearbox and engine.

All others are 60k km or 3 yrs and some like headunit, leather seats etc. are 12 mths.

Cheers.

I told my friend's PI car to go Kim for a condenser change and the quote was 400 plus.

Instead he went to one PI infamous appointed workshop upon his family member's advice.

End up paying 3x more. Black shop indeed.

This is the Compressor that came with the car, the so call ORIGINAL parts is not brand as "Subaru" but Valeo.

This is the new compressor replaced by outside workshop. Same brand same spec. but MI quoted me 3 times the price, parts only $1500.

No wonder failed so early. Valeo.... utter rubbish from the French.

Hi All,

One bro reached out to me on having endura pro plus with and without edfc as well as when compared to previous cusco touring A damper with controller and perhaps it may benefit others to share here:

Good morning ... endura pro plus' HBS works better for sure to absorb and damp out bumps than cusco touring A damper.

Edfc provides dynamic aka automated adjustment that allow soft i.e compliant ride at low speed and still nice ride at harder damping at high speed to prevent floaty ride since tyres are "skimming" over surfaces and not as subjected to road conditions as low speed.

Added significance is when you corners, left-right as well as front-rear damping forces are both adjusted to keep car flat and least roll possible .. it is at least 80kmhr confidently vs 70kmhr around bends.

Having endura pro plus even with edfc will be better than cusco touring A dampers for sure but edfc at 1.3k sourced myself is another step up and worthwhile spend on both compliant and least roll and floaty ride.

However, you have to deal with and accept motor noise from rear as our boot is open and part of cabin. You can minimise it with 16 instead of more sensitive 32 and 64 steps, allow adjustment only when >40kmhrs or go ballistic like me to have diy sound treatment but it is still there or simply disengage edfc when it  bothers you at late nite quiet ride without music playing.

For me, it is the best solution available for our forester and $ is quite reasonable as compared to much more $ I had spent on various sti and non-sti flexible stiffeners, bars, struts 😌

Cheers.

Richard
