i google the name and saw many recommendations, but not him.

the guy i engage dun go by day and not THE driver. i will first draft out my itinerary and places that we wish to go, he will then plan the route and give suggestions. we are comfortable to even let him arrange the accommodation. Hence the quote was by per pax (all inclusive except food & entrance ticket if any).

For me part of the fun for F & E start from the research work. Searching for hotel, planning route and place of interest. What food to eat etc....

My daughter will sit down with me to do the research together.

we have been doing self plan/drive for many years, but age catching up. also when traveling by ourselves, we may not get the full info of the local history and culture.

i am getting busy lately in other work outside my office hours, plus need to make arrangemrnt for my son trip to HK in early Jan, me and wife also have another travel plan in early Jan [sweatdrop] [sweatdrop]

i rather be the passive traveler and let other service me [laugh] [laugh]

My family of total 5 pax will be going taiwan in Dec.

Itinaery will be 台北-清境-阿里山-花莲-台北.

Should I drive? Really appreciate feedbacks on this issue. Taking HSR is pretty ex for 5 pax and hiring driver is not cheap either.

Bro

I drove from kaoshiung to alishan early this year

One thing to take note is when drive from the foot of alishan to the top can be quite tiring especially if you are the only driver

Trust me it is much more tiring than going up to gentng

How is the view driving up alishan? I guess the view would be better if going up by train.

Previously I booked the Altis 1.8L felt that quite underpowered driving up the mountain run. Especially going up 合欢山.

Which model you book?

I was concentrate driving up the treacherous mountain road and I was the only driver so I didn't get to view

I guess taking the train up from jaiyi might be a better option

I would like to take the train up but don't think can simply dump the car at the foot. .....haiz

I know some of those main train station have big car park near by that you can park a few days.

You may want to check out.

Talking about alishan, if want to see sunrise, not sure if we can drive to the destinatiom nearby and walk.....hmmmmmmm

if you stay in any 1 of the allisan hote

they have the "see sunrise" package or arrangement

the guide came to pick you up at 4am

go see sunrise after that come back to sleep

drive on your own is a big no no

you are not familiar with the road, where to park, and it's freaking 4am !!!
