Thanks @SZ_ford & @maxsee333 for your valuable input.

If is only 0.4s faster for the century sprint, I think it is definitely not worth the effort. However, some quick googling seems to show that it may be under 5 seconds, which is why it is tempting me.

See :

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uWwQHO-wIHA

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ro4QmxjRECc

Of course, theses videos must be taken with a pitch of salt given the controlled environment as opposed to real life street driving. Much will depend on the type of fuel and performance settings.

Despite the caveat, under 5 seconds mark (if true) is still very appealing. If it is true, again, will you spend excess of S$100k (and also more road tax) for an S4, instead of A4 ?

This revo tune is only for a4 Quattro. Your a4 is fwd right? Not that much reduction in century sprint

Some of the a5 folks say the most obvious gain is after 50kmh

4500 is for 5 year warranty by pa. It will drop every year

I am so glad that I chanced upon this forum.  You guys have been amazing and pointed out my misconception right away.

Given the "small" increment of 0.4 sec, I agree that S$4500 is not worth the money and there are much better way to spend the moola, say, a year or two supply of viagra maybe. Guess I may need it in a few more years to come.

Then again, it bags the question whether the 2.0TFSI A4 Quattro engine is really different from the A4 FWD ?  Knowing that it is difficult to come out with a new type of engine, I would find it difficult to accept that Audi does not have the financial wisdom and to have different engine for different model.  Simply put, everyone tries to save costs, including Audi, by having the same engine whenever possible example : A5 and A4 sharing similar engine.  It is so so much more expensive to manufacture a new engine.

From this post : https://www.motortrend.com/cars/audi/a4/2017/2017-audi-a4-20t-quattro-review-long-term-update-10/   it appears that it costs USD$4,500 more to upgrade A4 FWD to Quattro in the land of the free.  The price of USD$4,500 suggest that it is the same engine in both the FWD and Quattro.  A different engine will definitely costs a lot more in the Quattro.

If I may, I think MTM has a more linear tuning than RevO who appears to be much more aggressive.

Both are EA888 engines. The Fwd uses Gen 3b while the Quattro is a Gen 3. Rather different animals as you can see from the post Stage 1 numbers. 1 is 250bhp while the other is 333bhp? Different internals altogether.

Whether the MTM is worth it depends on individual. My B8 A4 1.8 after stage 1 was 343nm compared to 250nm stock and bhp went from 160 to 210bhp. Worth? Every cent. At least for me. Wish I did it from Day 1.

both use the same engine. The base a4 use a detuned version of the quattro's. this basically create another category or price range of a4/a5.

the big difference in century sprint is due to the drive train, FWD and AWD, and revo doesn't have a tune for the 190hp engine. Even if revo does tune the 190 hp, i believe the century sprint time won't be too different from mtm

A Civic type r fwd which weighs 1360kg with 306 hp can only sprint 6s 0-100. A much heavier 330i rwd with 250hp can post almost similar time  .

Was driving Beemer for the last 25 years and just booked the A4 B9 2.0TFSI last week at S$143,999 (with VC) but no solar film or recording dashcam.

Was informed by the SE that MTM tuning solution for new A4 is available. Package price as follows:

1. MTM Performance upgrade for A4 2.0TFSi is $4,500 before gst

2. Power gain: from 190hp/320Nm to 250hp/390Nm

3. LTA approval: NO

4. Warranty: Factory warranty void, however PA will take over warranty.

Any any bros (or sis) here managed to tune a 2.0TFSi to Stage 1 MTM ?

Is the engine-noise level much louder ? Pleasantly louder or otherwise ?

Is the fuel-consumption much worse ?

What is the estimated time for the 0-100 sprint ?

That's a great deal. Mind sharing the contacts for sales agent?

I bought it from a handsome young boy that goes by the name Matthew Quek.  However, it was one of those flash sale (or rather mid-night sales) whereby they have a target to hit for the financial year.

Wondering anyone have this issue with their B9? Assume you're in a traffic jam where we are going on the 1st/2nd gear, so when we need to repeatedly press & release the pedal, that's when you will hear "clunk clunk sound"....The sound is very obvious on the 2th gear n soft on the 3rd gear. Other than that gear shifting is quick n smooth. I went to my regular workshop to check, they jack up my car searching for the problem, but when they try to hand rotate the front wheel, we can hear loud "cluck cluck" sound coming form the gear box. Is that abnormal? Please advise. I drove to Audi service centre request for a check and the mechanic said it's normal maybe due to the new gearbox, it doesn't work like an auto gear box. But nevertheless,I've since book an appt with Audi service centre, so just want to know if that's normal/abnormal just in case the Audi mechanic tell me it's normal.

Don't think same engine. Sometimes they swap pistons or turbo size to cause it to produce lesser power. You can't get the power back by a simple remap.

I'm considering getting an A4 2.0 FWD.. a bit regret not getting it last weekend when the price was $150k Now the price is up by $3k!!

Anyway, does the standard trim base model come with B&O sound system? I can't find anyway on the Audi website how much it cost to upgrade it.

Standard A4 model dun comes with B&O sound system. Best to call Audi to check how much it cost to upgrade it. Think not cheap else would have done it one mine when i got it recently [:p]

If seriously want to buy then go and nego the "promo" price. They usually still have room to go down.

B&O is an upgrade option about 3k but then you need to wait for 4mths plus as it becomes a special indent.

If you upgrade B&O afterwards outside, prepare more than 4k. yes it is more expensive than selecting it at purchase.

Good luck.

Is the engine-noise level much louder ? Pleasantly louder or otherwise ? --> Not noticeable.

Is the fuel-consumption much worse ? ---> If drive harder burn more. Suppose drive normally it is the same as before. Need to pump RON 98 and above.

What is the estimated time for the 0-100 sprint ? low 7 sec.

$4.5k is ex but it covers warranty. If you do a stage 1 with 3rd party around $1k, then anything happen will engine and gear box etc own self pay. So far 2.0TFSI has no issue. See your own risk appetite.

250Hp is always better than 190Hp by far but only if you use and enjoy it. If so then every cent is worth it. Enjoy your new ride.
