therock Supersonic October 30, 2016 Share October 30, 2016 There's a price to be paid for a big rim, so YMMV - literally..
Daniu82 Supercharged October 30, 2016 Share October 30, 2016 I always find 17 inch a bit too big for a sedan car le, resulted car is so much heavier and affect FC also. So it is white and sparkling metal ah. Looks like sparkling metal just looks grey colour to me?! Lol. Yup, sparkling metal is like slightly light colour grey. merc280v6 6th Gear October 30, 2016 Share October 30, 2016 For a 1.6 NA car, putting on 17" or 18" rims is really all show and no go! For each kg of metal added (x4), you impose an incremental moment of inertia to the car's acceleration 'resistance' by 3+ (pi) times. So in going from 15" to 17", and each rim is (say) 5kg heavier, the unsprung weight increases by 20kg, but the additional moment of inertia = 5 x 4 x 3 = 60 kg equivalent!! Yes of course the turn-in is gonna feel much better and high-speed corners and straight line stability too. But you'll be poorer on the 0-100 and fuel consumption ... and probably tire noise too. Again, we're talking about a 1.6 NA B&B car here.
Cyrid 1st Gear October 30, 2016 Share October 30, 2016 Nice, what's the actual selling price? And the VW is there for comparison? That would have been a nice car to buy, if only the gearbox reliability was not so uncertain... It's not just gearbox, I think VW which is under same family as Audi and a couple more Germany brand all has issues either with gearbox or their electronics etc. Go ask around friends who's driving these brands and I'm sure they have some issues. Really depends whether performance outweighs convenience to you or not. If you don't mind going back to workshop on and off and downtime is not a issue to you. In expo kmc show and market s model with body kit and 17inch rim.. personally I don't like the so call sport design. Side note.. VW SE told me Golf sell at 99k or lower can be negotiated and garrenty COE can get car in 1mth time :) AD bodykit and rims is always fugly, if you are thinking of getting them, might as well source for design that you like rather than take the standard design by AD. wdldalian 2nd Gear October 30, 2016 Share October 30, 2016 Hi guys, Just to check, how long does it take from getting the COE successfully to car registration to car collection? Is it possible to collect the car on the same day as it is registered? Otherwise, those days would be wasted coz we legally register the car but do not hold it. Thank you! I call the shop that supply wheels to kmc. They quote 800$800 quoted for 16" rims only? Still must buy new 16" tyres. I think KMC's $1,000 is for upgrade to 16" rims + 16" tyres. No? dahliax85 Clutched October 30, 2016 Share October 30, 2016 Either could be least popular colour, thats why they dont bring in many and need to wait? But think red should be one of the popular colour if compared with white and black?! Heard popular colour are sparkling metal, ice wine and maybe red.Yea, just keeping fingers crossed I guess. Hope shipment not gonna take 3-5 months kind.
Earthng Clutched October 30, 2016 Share October 30, 2016 Some info for u guys to compare.Went Glymax for my elantra free solar film installation and top up titanium film $450. Free film comes with standard film which cost $250 . My recommendation is just go for the free standard or most top up not more than $300.
