If you have not heard of this German brand, you are not alone. But if you make a quick search on the web, once Germany's third-largest car maker, does have some iconic model half a decade back.

The German car maker unveiled its first model for 54 years, the BX7 SUV, at the recent Frankfurt Auto Show. The company, which is based in Stuttgart and backed by Chinese commercial-vehicle manufacturer, Beiqi Foton, tragets sales of more than 500,000nautos in the "medium terms", COE Ulrich Walker said in an interview. The company plans to launch sales with the midsize SUV, before adding 2 smaller SUVs, a sedan and a van.

That big grille is kind of ugly to me, but the rest of the car looks nice, if a bit non-descript in today's relative terms.

why i have the feeling looking at unknown brand, i see their design will automatically link that brand with China??? :D

I don't see hint of Chinese design, but lot of German in the BX7.

The grille and it history somewhat remind of Skoda...

I knew I'd seen that roofline and window profile before. The Borgward has a unique downward kink in the lower side character line however.

Backed by Foton... Took a quick look Foton site and there was a bunch which looks kinda similar to Actros/Hino/Toyota vehicles and even a Kia-ish lorry.

Anyway.... [grin]

Wah the new posted angle make the headlamps really look like Q5.

The interior reminds me of jumbo version of the old BMW X1!

Their infotainment controller on the other hand, looks French! [:p]
