Roberttan 5th Gear April 18, 2017 Share April 18, 2017 Same got my at 260 for 225/45/18 when 225/40/18 is only 200.... PI always claim odd size so more expensive. is truth that 225/40/18 is lots popular/common than 225/45/18 here. but the cost of any products is determine by many many factors like : cost from factory/ Quantity / shipping cost / Currency rate / Inventory / retail space / Service Quality / Branding/staffs salary last but not least GST etc be a wise consumers and remember you get what you paid Nothing is equal Technically don't any how change the size because of the Cost unless is Factory Approved optional size. PI always claim odd size so more expensive. yes...225/45 is more exp, the tyre guy told me cos 225/40 is applicable also to jap cars so higher supply = cost lower also. if u wan u can check if your car also ok for 245/40, can save quite abit. Victorco 2nd Gear April 19, 2017 Share April 19, 2017 (edited) yes...225/45 is more exp, the tyre guy told me cos 225/40 is applicable also to jap cars so higher supply = cost lower also. if u wan u can check if your car also ok for 245/40, can save quite abit. difference can be as huge as 60$ per piece. /45 size is getting more common but importers are not risking as upsize normally is -10 not -5 Edited April 19, 2017 by Victorco
Roberttan 5th Gear April 22, 2017 Share April 22, 2017 I strongly recommend don't change the tire size because of the cost (unless is optional size by car manufacturers ). A set 4 tire can last you for easily 40k to 50k or 2 years, saving of $100 to $200 for 2 years is not worth.
Confusedboi Supercharged May 1, 2017 Share May 1, 2017 Anyone know the price for Michelin Pilot Sport 4 for 205/55/R16? Hi i got mine at AL tyres for about SGD 550+ for all 4 tyres... Made in Thailand not Europe ( price will be higher)
serenade 6th Gear May 1, 2017 Share May 1, 2017 I am looking for my next set of tyres, and have narrowed my choices down the following 3: - Michelin PS4 - Conti CSC6 - Bridgestone S001 I want something that has excellent wet grip, stiff sidewalls, and sharp steering feel. Durability is not an issue as I am a low mileage driver. Of the 3, which one will suit my needs best?

D_orai 2nd Gear May 2, 2017 Share May 2, 2017 I am looking for my next set of tyres, and have narrowed my choices down the following 3: - Michelin PS4 - Conti CSC6 - Bridgestone S001 I want something that has excellent wet grip, stiff sidewalls, and sharp steering feel. Durability is not an issue as I am a low mileage driver. Of the 3, which one will suit my needs best? Bridgestone Potenza S001's dry and wet grip is amazing. Braking distance is exceptional. But I disapprove of steering feel. Feels a bit sloppy. Sidewalls don't seem to be very stiff.
