Question: Should rotate or change the tyre?

Tread Depth

Front: 3.1mm

Rear: 3.6mm

YoM: 2017

Installation: 2018

if still not yet touch indicator, i'd rotate and use 12 months max.

Will use it till it hits the week of the DOM at 4years. Then change.
don’t waste money to rotate.

i find tyres drive even better in the dry when they are near the indicator albeit more noisy. But scary in the wet. So it depends on how the user drives according to the weather. Sometimes i would change a half worn set just before the year end monsoon season esp if planning a trip up north.

I am an aggressive driver shine or rain.  I will not let tread depth go so low.

depends on the tyres- it might be unavoidable for some models with low threadwear index. I had one set of tyres that only lasted 4k km before i had to change it out 😀 it had a TWI of 80 (not 180). Used it for drives in malaysia (not sepang - just road trip and B roads) during dry season while switching to another set of different rims/tyres for use in SG. After each drive, can see the tyre is clearly thinner than before. LOL

YES FOR the age should consider change, but you still can continue use since still have 3.1mm left, YOM 2017 plus 5 or 6 manufacturer warrant. notice Michelin Official warranty booklet to 9 years from DOM(T & C ) , Michelin is so confidents their poduct Quality

My plan is to rotate the tyre 1 last time. Measures the tread depth after 2.5k km.

If goes below 3.1mm, I will change to PS4s.

Recently I saw in a tyre shop that there is a variant of Michelin Pilot Sport 4 calls "Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S" and the thread pattern is a bit different.

Is it a superior or successor version to the PS4?

Have the PS4 on current ride. Front tomyum, rear German, all same profile.

Best tyres I ever have...very grippy in dry and wet. Can drive with confidence even in very wet condition. But noisy like hell in the dry...reminds me of the noisy rumbling GY Eagle F1 I once had...😅

What is your tyre size?

Are your tyres low-profile sidewall type? Like say 50 or below.

And generally is it that the lower the sidewall profile the noiser the tyre will be?
