Survey: Which is the best (claims) Motor Insurance company

FWD is quite decent, imho.

Have been in 2 claims.

(Not my fault, 100% other party liability)

My car is an accident magnet 😂

First was a slight bump at an intersection.

Claim against the other driver took quite some time (auntie lucy) , but eventually the repainting of my scratched bumper was done.

No thanks to MI that tripled the agony by botching up a painting job by not letting the paint dry adequately first. What a waste of time.

Second was a projectile (a wood plank) flying off a truck.

Claim was quite fast and service, repair given (not MI but FWD's workshops) was decent. No disputes here, other than the fact that the call centre is a little slow.

For a "high-risk" car at below $800 for basic Comprehensive, I say why not give it a go?

For the plank incident, you made a self-claim or claimed against the truck?

If the latter, please provide details - did the guy stop after incident. Did you make a police report? Did you claim against truck driver or company or both?

I cannot reveal exact details, but here are some brief details.

The guy didnt stop, so somewhat a hit and run. Mind you, this isn't a small pebble or something, its like an A4 or A3 sized wooden plank half the thickness of a dictionary.

A police report was filed against the company. ( It was a tipper truck, and it's owned by some company with its name on both sides.)

Yes. Both got gap cover, so if total loss, no need pay a cent to the bank for car loan. This gap cover covers it.

Also can select own workshop option. Of course their workshop option will be cheaper.

Generally, pretty comprehensive cover with reasonable pricing.

Can call MSIG direct if you are interested. And compare with the rest. Ask them for Ultimate car protector quote and normal comprehensive quote.
