I use soon huat for alignment.

I gave up on him. Wanted to tok me $80 for front toe only.
and the other 2 times like Kenny alignment needed to recenter the steering wheel after alignment.
Avoided going to famous alignment shops. The last few was to Stamford Tyres at kaki bukit. Heck it was not even me who sent it in but the workshop after they changed my suspension. Spot on alignment

I second this.

Soon Huat charges $30 for Aircon gas top up while others charge only $20.

His henchmen (who left Soon Huat) told me that the boss is greedy and tends to charge more for non standard services.

Also, the Boss tried to charge me $130 for Goodyear EfficientGrips when it was listed on SGCM as $120. When taken to task, the boss said, if SGCM says it's $120, then it's $120.

Service is ok, but the boss...erm

But it's a decent place to get tyres in the west nevertheless.

Tires maybe. I left him do oil change once. Never again. Bloody heck, no tool to even open the toyota type of spin on oil filter. In the end the mechanic mangled the filter taking it off. Lucky he hand tighten the new filter.
I brought oil and all the parts and he charged me $40 and this was 3years back.
too ex and sub par service. Maybe I should have supplied the oil filter cap wrench and spanner and gotten more discount!

You'd might as well go to TT Motorsport at this rate.

Decent price and service (lounge, if you rest, is light years ahead of Soon Huat) , you can get $58 all in for shell helix, liquimoly (green bottle 0W-20) was $108 with engine cleaning.

Add $15 for conti.

maybe I should list out my preferences

- don't need free patching

- don't need free wheel rotation

- don't need to be the cheapest in town

- handle my car and wheels with care

- do a good wheel balancing job

- not over tightening the wheel bolts

- most importantly, don't say the followings to me

"boss, your wheel is warp"

"boss, your tyres eat one side, need wheel alignment"

"boss, your wheel has hairline crack"

Guan Lee Tyre at Kaki Bukit. Boss is Mr Tay, one man operation. No tiong or jiuhu worker.

He used power wrench to tighten though but no issue for me over the years. He doesn’t have a wide range of tyres but you can whatspp him to ask about the size first.

Thanks, I'll call to check if he has the tyre and size that I want

impact wrench is ok as long as the person doesn't go overzealous on the trigger, I can always re-torque the bolts when I reach home

my regular tyre shop also one man show, only sell tyres, no rim no nonsense, until his son took over

The south east tyre at marine terrace or kaki bukit.
100% hand tighten. No bulls**t at all. No black shitty face even when you don’t buy Tyres from them but just do patching. Only internal patch and no temp worm type patch.
Zero hard sell.

The only negative about guan Lee is the range of tyres he carry. Thus never bought any from him even though I have pop by his shop to enquire a couple of times.

Since you mentioned leong seng, just go to them lah.

I been going to them last 8 years for all wheels related: 1 set vr rims, 5 sets of tyres (current is pirelli p7c run flat), tpms.

No, never kenna pressured by them to buy anything more than i specifically asked for.
