Anti Dazzle Mirrors:

 

According to the specifications the G30 530i M-Sport should have anti dazzle mirrors on both wing mirrors and the centre internal mirror. Is that correct? Does anyone know?

 

It seems my left hand passenger wing mirror isn't working then but I want to ensure it is anti dazzle before I take it in for repair.

Yes it is standard. Both interior and exterior mirrors have anti dazzle

Yes, you can notice that the Central part of the mirror appears as greenish under certain lighting condition.

 

Would like to check with any bro here on whether their steering is slightly off centre. May need to adjust it as I am quite particular about it when Travelling along expressway.. Don' t think it is alignment out as there is no vibration or pulling effect.

Thanks.  The right mirror and centre internal mirror both Dim automatically.  The left side mirror does not.  Strangely, my F10 when I got it many years ago had exactly the same problem and they needed to replace it.  

 

You can easily test it by shining a flash light into (from your phone) onto the internal mirror.  They mirrors will dim heavily then.  The left one never dims even under normal night driving conditions.

 

My steering is perfectly straight, not off centre at all.  Maybe just needs some adjustment.

Thks , will get my usual wheel alignment specialist to adjust as I hv my reservations on pml willingness to perform such task.

You are right, I have checked mine as well and realize the left side passenger mirror never dims.

 

Seems like its normal as others have also reported this

Very interesting. 

 

I remember I specifically asked the PML Product Guru and the SE do both mirrors Dim.  I asked because my previous car had only the drivers side mirror and I thought that was very cheap.

 

Their answer in both cases was yes.  So not sure what to do.  Should probably ask PML now.

Does anyone know of the BMW Widgets are available on the G30 530i?  I cannot find it anywhere.  I saw the weather come up once somewhere but I can never find it again?

When you are in the ConnectedDrive menu, press the "Options" button below the dial. Select "Update" and wait for a while.  All the apps should start to populate soon after.

If weather still does not appear, go to Map -> Additional Info -> Check the weather option

Does anyone use the Android version of the ConnectedDrive app on their phone?  Mine displays the remaining fuel level in gallons and and range in miles.  Any idea how to change it to litres and KM?

I'm using the Android version and it shows gallons and miles as well. I had asked the BMW Genius about it, but there is nothing that can be done for now until BMW updates the app.

Went for 5 day holiday in Malaysia, drive my G30 up and it is damn smooth. The power is is fantastic.

The "recall" is to check the side curtain airbags. Done in 30 mins. Apparently it's all good.

 

I am using both the Andriod & IOS versions. It's true that the Andriod BMW Connected APP only displays Miles & Gal.

 

The IOS displays it properly in KM and L.

 

@Peacenowar I am glad you took your G30 for a drive on the N/S highway, only then the new G30's full potential can be realized.

 

@wt_know Agreed; that's why there is a need to "blow" the cobwebs out of the engine once in a while.

I'm using the Android version and it shows gallons and miles as well. I had asked the BMW Genius about it, but there is nothing that can be done for now until BMW updates the app.

 

BMW updated the Android app.  Now can change the units of measure to metric under the settings. Can also use the Remote 3D View.  Takes a relatively long time to load the pics though and my G30 looks like a toy car! Hahahaha.  Try it out guys.
