Yup got it for rear cabin space as well. Front driver seat has lumbar support. Passenger seat also cosy feel.

Rear seats are well fitting too. Less tendency to get backache compared to other rides. They actually did some ergonomics on the K.

Biturbo is diesel? Petrol is just turbo. SG has no 1.6T but generally in UK the FC is quite ok however not SG roads. But if u whack the car, 450km sounds about just nice.

Not sure about your steering experience but it is extremely firm and assuring for me. Can use 2 fingers to grip and steer while cruising on lane 1 if want to.

Lane watch here can be toggled on/off permanently. I never use it unless feeling lazy or even my 2 fingers feeling tired. Helps drivers remember to signal but it's really sensitive

Bro I do about 550 from full to fuel warning. Top up about 44L. 50/50.

Best light foot ever can do about 600 plenty of highway.

Yea FC about there since mine 90% city. Is really efficient on the highway. Maybe is just me being sensitive but one thing I do notice though during hot days the power tends to drop slightly compared to driving at night considering cold air works better for a TC car?

the tuck sound i believe is the dry clutch, which is noisier than the wet clutch. before anyone slams the dry clutch, it has its advantages. lightweight, less power loss so in racing like F1, dry clutch is used. Wet clutch is also more expensive to manufacture, hence the higher prices. dry clutch however, also wears out faster. same applies to DSG. it can wear out around 70k onwards and ppl think it's unreliable.

Astra 1.4 is using torque converter...that's why owners complain since rightfully should not have such sounds...

Yup highway can do 25km/L

Heat will dampen performance for sure...my previous Korean 1.6NA worse...had to do cold air intake of not really sluggish on hot days.

Turbocharger works by compressing more oxygen molecules into the intake. Naturally on a hot day the oxygen molecules are more spaced apart given the same air volume/pressure hence less power output. Again one can explore a cooler air intake route but looking at the engine bay, doesn't seem like much to play around with...

Even if got space also can't mod until end of warranty. Wanted to do tuning after warranty also but found out the gearbox already max out in handling the torque figure from the 1.4T

yup 6T35 rated to handle 235nm....better dont do anything liao

looking at the map....nothing much to play around with except tweak it for better FC if factory didnt already optimize it....

No point spending money to re-map on improving fuel economy since GM should have already optimise it.

A canned tune re-map (DIY) cost $500 while a workshop re-map cost $800 to $1200 depends on complexity.

My 2014 Cruze 1.4T is on 6T40 and could handle max 250nm. That is why I go for re-map to improve power to weight ratio while maintaining its reliability. If not I will not spend money just only on fuel economy. It just doesn't make sense.

Maybe you can try to change to lighter rims and replace stock air filter with performance air filter.

Performance air filter needs oiling, not the cleanest option

maybe the 1.6T not avail in SG will have good potential being 280nm stock and 6T45 holding up to 315nm.

slurps.

the new insignia base 1.6T will probably be close to maxed out as well coupled to 6T45.

Well, to improve car performance, there will be risk. It depends how deep is your pocket.

An example tune an engine risk of components per-mature failure. If really want to be on the safe side, do not mod the vehicle. Just stay stock [laugh]

Not really. Some mods r relatively safe like suspensions, engine tuning is also ok. But putting more dirty air into your engine...., not sure it's a good compromise.

i think stock filter airflow is good enough...since the turbocharger is already doing the compression..

maybe a better intercooler for SG climate

and a proper dexos 1 gen 2 engine oil.

Think the BiTurbo is the diesel and the 1.6 petrol is just normal turbocharged? Can't say about FC different people different but my 1.4T does about 450km per tank. (90% city 10% highway).

Thought lane guidance can disable permanently? I disabled it months ago haven't touch it since.

to be frank, i cant be entirely sure whether it has twin turbos. It should be the 1.6L engine but it is definitely turbocharged. Anyway the cars over here seem to have air intake to be fresh as default i.e. you have to press the air intake button to select circulate mode. My point is that, the lane guidance could be a regional default setting due to regulatory requirements.

Lots of mountainous twisting roads on the B and L highways. Not as planted as the VW Golf or Seat Leon (both based on the same MQB platform)

The AC tends to "forget" the circulation setting ie after parking long time u need to remember to select it.

Can agree on your steering experience. Was surprised that the astra drives like a sedan due to long wheelbase. Good thing is rear cabin space is decent. It's good on straight roads, soso around bends, but definitely not exciting around corners (nor that it was meant to be).

Someday, somehow, I'm definitely gunning for the 1.6T.

I agreed. Maybe can mod the suspension to performance coilover and change to a set of wider sticky tyres to make it more planted than the Golf.

There are also dry performance air filter for small HP gain but not as clean as stock filter.

Anyway, Singapore cars lifespan is only 10 years unless re-new COE, and our road conditions are not that dusty.

Since we're on intercooler, I just wanna share that the 1.0T intercooler is HUGE. I suspect existing boost is quite high to push through this size intercooler.

Anyone has any boost gauge installed? What's the boost for the 1.0T?

For Cruze 1.4T, the stock is about 15-16 psi depending on weather condition. After mod tuned is around 22 psi.

Therefore Astra 1.4T should be around 15-16 psi as well.

No numbers for Astra 1.0T.
