one of the biggest destroyer of leather is sweat

if you sit barebody and your sweat comes into contact with leather, good luck

sure spoil

when you buy your new leather sofa, remember about the sweat part

also remember to do monthly application of leather cream

I use those cheap macguire ones that car sofa use

but If you got sweat on sofa, use how much leather cream also no use

if you are buying leather sofa, those electric recliners are good

save space. when you want to lie down, you can do so. when don't need, can keep

that's is why I don't buy a repeat of my old L shape sofa

No need to spend money and buy those car leather cream

When go hotel just swipe those moisturising lotion.

Not only protects the leather but also cleans it.

Removes all the dirt. Also good for leather shoes.

please be careful . . . . I can reluctantly concurr with your idea if the leather sofa is dark colored tough-hide type

but if its for those soft light subtle modern leather sofa, even car leather care has to be re-considered !!!

I definitelly agree body sweat, and the humid soaked body is definitely a killer to leather sofa

but applying those cheapy leather care lotions will result into different tone or patches depending on how the leather surface absorbs the lotion..... this can be visible on soft light subtle modern leather after awhile . . .

this is especially there's never been the same piece of leather to the whole sofa set

dark colored leathers may escaped visibility to these patches

Yup and not matter what, a reupholstered will not be "as good as new"

these days a lot of furniture are just use and dispose already ... not cost efficient to restore to extend the life.

so for me I set aside a budget of $1k and bought a fabric sofa from Cellini to replace my old one.

I am using wooden sofa even on the butt area. Hahaha....

Wanted to make some cushions for it, but my wife objected. Save my $$$.

Where is a good place to buy sofas? My leather sofa also same problem, may go back to fabric also

i went HTL office at Gul, Commode, OM, The Bear Knows, Ikea, Harney Norman and Cellini.

In the end narrowed down to fabric sofa at Harvey Normal (Millenia) and Cellini cos was looking at simple neat lines and within my budget.

Finally bought from Cellini (Suntec).

I do have a habit of snoozing on the sofa so I think fabric is better for me.  [:p]
