I think it's not natural resources we don't have it's brains.

 

If natural resources is the key to wealth then we have lot of reserves we can use to buy mining companies and sell the minerals to make profits to buy the oil companies and sell the oil and use the profits to buy the farming companies to sell the food and use the profits to buy the housing companies and sell the houses to buy the fishing companies and sell the fish to buy the wind turbine companies and use the profits to buy the solar company.

 

The problem is we don't have the smart people to decide which is the first company to buy.

 

Buying a company is marriage. You do not know what type of MIL you get until you went in... :)
